Ok here is my latest setup. Please note that the brown entertainment unit is not what will be in my final setup. I picked this up dirt cheap while I am having my eventual entertainment center custom built.

My final setup with be all black, the same width as my TV Stand but will basically have the same overall shape to it.

    3. Klipsch RF62 Front Speakers
    4. Klipsch RC62 Center Speakers
    5. Klipsch RS42 Rear Speakers
    6. Klipsch RPW10 Sub

*Note* I cant confirm that all those speakers are the exact ones I have but they do look very similar...I just included this google image since its easier to see them and what the rear speakers are.

Ok, so here's a somewhat updated picture. I just took it after watching some college football and drinking with friends, so it's not the best picture I could have taken. Also since I got it today I haven't completely gotten placement for everything certain.

    ((Updated picture in next post))

So we have our cable receiver (gray box), AV receiver (NR807, just got today) and roommates PS3 (with another open slot for my Slim PS3). Along with, of course, Sneaky Jesus behind the front center speaker.

We had the receiver in the empty spot, but the heat from it rising made the top glass insanely hot... and since that's where my Slim usually goes, we decided to move it. Now I'm worried that it will bother my bottom right of the TV there, what do you think? Only the front 3-4 inches is under the TV.

I'm also planning on switching up the cable box with the phat (promised myself I'd never call it that, but it seems to be catching on) PS3. That way we (myself and others) won't have problems changing the channels since stuff usually get in the way.

I'm also wanting to get something to put behind that middle part of the stand to hide the cables if tomorrow or Sunday (watching and attending college games tomorrow will keep me busy) if I'm not able to easily get them hidden.

If I get all of that done tomorrow then I'll take some pictures of it, probably just one though since every other part of the setup is still the same.

Alright, got the stand and everything organized and setup.

To hide the cables behind I cut out some plywood and spray painted it black and it looks pretty good. Sometime later in the week I may do the same for the very bottom.

    First the whole setup:

    And then a closeup.

It looks like I'm gonna have to dust off that bottom part of the TV stand.

    No problem.

I just thought of another DIY thing. You could paint the tubes from paper towels and use them as cable channels in a rack. Cheap and easily replaceable if they start looking worn.

    Hello ladies!!!

    oh and gentlemen

I just Picked up a pair of JBL S38's these are my first REAL set of quality speakers....these things are friggin PHENOMENAL!! and the price i got them for was too good to be true.

I'm building my theater set up piece by piece. I have a HTiB right now. its a 5 year old Sony one. The S38's are quite under powered but with them having a woofer, mid, and a titanium tweeter, I'm hearing stuff from the frotns that i've NEVER heard before.

I will post pics of my new setup tomorrow. Also picking up some JBL Control 25's from the same guy this weekend for a heck of a steal too!

man i need to get an HD audio Receiver for sure now.

The stand I have has a metal hollow post to run cables through, so I use that. That is a good idea though.

Another thought I just came up with is PVC piping. They make it in black as well as white. You can drill holes to fish wire in and use elbows to cover 90 degree angles.

Ha! you know ttech, I've noticed this but I always appreciate your pics.

I also think the cardboard looks great on the pics. So if it works in real life, that seems very cheap and a good idea to do the bottom as well.

Lou, I had been planning on copying you and getting a larger version of the BDI stand you have. Then the wife intervened this past week and suggested that we just do a large wall of built ins around the TV. Say WHAT??? I'm going to have to jump on that and hopefully will have a new set up area in the near future. And may need to upgrade the TV first

Yea I think I've been slacking on regular updates, haha.

We don't really have anything planned for a while so I think I'm finally good with posting new stuff for a while. The only thing we actually need now is front floor standing speakers which, if we get, wouldn't be until a few months.

^Lemonade, will be looking forward to the new setup pics whenever that will be.

Nothing amazing, but for a college dorm room it isn't bad.

Not to be mean, but it looks like you are wasting alot of good space with your desk area. I'd first get the printer off your desk and either put it on the dresser or on that top shelf where the tv is. You can move the ps3 upright where the printer is now, or leave it where it is, or put it on that top shelf too next to where the printer could go. And lastly I would think of moving the tv down onto your main part of the desk, or even that could go on the dresser. I just think the TV so high up would be a little less than ideal, and the printer is so unimportant it seems silly to have it take up so much of your desk.

I know you didn't ask for any advice on your arrangement but if your open to idea's than there's some food for thought.

The TV looks a lot higher than it actually is. I had it down on the main part of the desk initially but it looked hokey. The printer actually is a big problem though. I'm thinking about just putting it on the floor because no matter where it goes it's taking up much needed desk space. When I bring my 360 down I'll have to figure something out.

Dorm room as in at a dormitory or 'dorm room' at an actual house?

Just asking, cause the dorm rooms we had at Tech were miserable and by the looks of it yours is a LOT bigger.

Dorm room as in college dorm room. It's a decent sized room, but it's really long and narrow; that kind of killed a lot of plans for an entertainment set up. This dorm was only built in 2006, so it's really nice aside from the odd dimensions.

    Oh alright.

The ones I had lived in were built in 1964 and were in definite need of an upgrade. The size was pretty much a 13x15 foot box. Which, at least made for an easy entertainment setup.

I think its time for a new Thread that actually gets updated! I was hoping for some comments on my system setup but it gets quickly lost in the confusion of many pictures and 23 pages of posts.
