I'd go with Resistance with the Dualshock. Resistance is still one of the best PS3 games I've ever played. And you'll probably want to pick it up to be prepared for Resistance 2.

would have to say for a driving game cant go past Burnout Paradise, ive put 300+ hours into this game and im still loving it. also GT5p. great mew instalment of a classic racing sim.
i havent played Warhawk so im a little biased, but Battlefield is so much fun, and addictive as hell. also a fair bit to unlock, and a funny singleplayer. the lag issues are pretty easy to get out off, just leave a room and join another that will hopefully be better.
agreed on all points. will be playing resistance alot soon, maybe next month.

Yes you would. I'd never played any MGS games before MGS4 and I loved it. There were parts that I was really confused at but at the end of the game I pretty much had the basic concept. I think MGS4 is a must buy for any gamer.

Madden '08 is pretty cool. Even losing can be fun.

I'm thinking of buying either Resistance: Fall of Man or Warhawk. I can't really buy both at the moment but I know I'll definitely get both down the line so I guess the question is which game to get first? I'm interested in the SP of Resistance but I'm fine with the multiplayer only aspect of Warhawk. Opinions would be very welcome, thanks. Also, is there a lot of people still playing the Resistance multiplayer?

I'd go with Resistance. I'd olny say that because you'd probabl;y want to understand the story so you can be ready for the second one. Plus, it's an amazing game. Not that warhawk isn't an amazing game though because that's really great as well.
But I was never very partial to flying games so I really never got into Warhawk.

CIV Rev is boring. Fun at the start, but you will notice repetitive play herein-out
Just finished COD4, which I have to say was quite amazing.. I need a car game. Thinking of going for GT5 Prologue. Can anyone comment on this?

GTs prologue is one of the best games graphically on the ps3. its not the full game but i still think its worth it. 70 cars to get. the lack of damage on the cars when you bump into something is quite a letdown though. I find gt5 prologue to be a good game and i normally dont really enjoy car games.

Is 'Battlefield: Bad Company' worth buying? It seems pretty cool. Or am I better off buying Resistance (which is only $30). I've rented and beat the story of Resistance, but its nice to have a good shooter with online.

I liked Resistance a lot better so I would say that. It is $30 cheaper after all. Plus, you'll know the story incase you want to but Resistance 2. Battlefield: BC was just okay imo. It has a great online though.
But I'd still say go with Resistance.

RFoM is packed with noobs who ***** the 40mm LAARK and tag so if you are buying it for online, don't. The campaign is dull but its good to know it cuz R2 is a continuation of that sory.
BF:BC is an okay game, campaign is humorous and online dull. No teamwork online when teamwork is necessary and crappy mics. So its a hard decision.

Well I already beat the RFOM story. I rented it in the past, and beat it. However, it was a nice story, and I wouldn't mind owning the game for future playthroughs. I didn't get a chance to play online before returning it though.
Is the online that bad? The LAARK is the Rocket Launcher, right? So you're basically saying people spam the powerful weapons online? Can't there be weapon restrictions (to restrict broken weapons like the LAARK)?
-

Naw. THe LAARK is really powerful, 2 rockets but the mini rockets make it too deadly. The tag is the secondary bullseye weapon. You tag a person and you have basically killed them. Its extremely hard to shake it off in time. The 40mm is the secondary weapon for the carbine. I don't mind it much since you do have to aim it.
This was IG's first FPS game so i guess thats why all this happens. They seem to be fixing it in R2 though.

So the online in Resistance is extremely unbalanced. But if the broken weapons were taken out (LAARK, Bullseye, whatever else), then it would be fine right? And it is possible to ban certain weapons out of a match right?

Thats only in custom games. But you rarely find games like that, custom is infested with 1 hit kill games which don't make you better, but make you worse.
