Check out this video clip featuring Minority Report style interface! Do you remember in the film where Tom Cruise used transparent (glass?) disc to load and write data? Well, here is an interesting video revealing the technology could be possible.

Minority Report style for Sony?

Oh yeah.. the tiles. This has been discussed in the other forums too, but no harm in doing so here too.

I never got that connection with Minority Report. It's been too long since I saw that movie. I absolutely loved it.
I suppose it's just showing off the capabilities of the PS3, rather than advertising a peripheral. Although, I would love to see that on shelf after the launch.

Yeah, glass like data storage devices and image projection tablet screens have been in development for a while.
I'm amazed this tech isn't out and about yet, guess it still has alot of flaws.
I can't see average joe being able to look after his highly sensitive glass image projection tiles.
Holographic image projectors are in heavy development now too I believe.
Alot of aeroplanes use them already, really cool stuff.
I'm telling ya people, don't doubt what the sci fi movies have, its all gonna be real some day.lazyaza.blogspot.com , http://www.lazyaza.com , ab0180.deviantart.com

Well, I have no clue what good it will do, but it sure is sweet. I really liked the part where the guy puts the cell phone on the plate and it leaves an image of it.
Personally, I really like the computer in "The Island" (sorry, I kinda like that movie). A character uses a glass pyramid to conrtol windows on a giant flat table that is actually a big computer display. It's pretty sweet.
