Anyone got REALLY HIGH quality sample sounds?

So... Uhh, I got a Sennheiser PC150 headphone, and I don't have any really high quality sound samples to really "test" it out.

I know that the bass is really good, but I'm more concerned with the mids and the highs. The highs don't sound too hot from what I'm hearing, but then, most of my sound samples are really low quality (196kbps or lower). The highs so far sounds somewhat muzzled, if you guys know what I mean? Hard to really explain, as I'm not an audiophile and don't really kow the terminology . The mids sometimes have some sibilance, and I don't really like it--but again, it could just be due to bad sound samples.

If you got music that's really high quality, and is mostly in the mids and highs, could you possibly cut a 30 second clip of it or something?

REFLEX, you know I'm mostly looking at you !

Hmmmmmm..... I assume this is for your PS3? Or what?......

If so, get a SACD. Or I could rip you a super high quality SACD Hybrid track (classical) or something to test it out.

No, it's not for my PS3... Just a headphone for my PC.

Thing is, I don't know where else to post Audio stuff... So, that's why I posted here.

It'd be great if you can send me a SACD sample track at whatever is the max bitrate possible. Thanks a lot REFLEX .

PC150's? I've owned a few pair of those(I used to play a lot of Counter-Strike competetively hehe), and as far as I knew, they weren't that high quality. I mean how much were they, $30?

    It's a nice headset, but it's definitely not high-end.

Why don't you rip a CD into FLAC or something? Don't you own any music? Haha.

Hmm, how high quality are CD quality sound samples anyways? Aren't they only 196kbp/s, that's basically what I have already.

But screw ripping to FLAC, I'll just rip a CD track to Wave... I mean, one 5 minute track would only be... I don't know how large, actually ; anywhere between 15-45MB .

Anyways, I'll go hunt down some CD ripping softwares that will rip to Wave, w00t!

Yeah, with headphones, you're not talking high end until you enter the 500+ range . And these retails for 84.99 CDN over here (and they're branded "PC1151"... Took me a while to figure out that they're the same as PC150 down in the States. Weird, I know ).

Definitely not even in the mid-range, but hey, I'd like to know how it sounds with some good sound samples.

On that note, know any good headphones around the same price? I'm not really willing to pay over 100 bucks for a pair of darned headphones (I mean, I do have my own Onkyo surround sound system, so these won't be for movie viewing or anything, just pleasure listening on the PC and playing some VG's)... So if anyone got any suggestions, I'm willing to listen to 'em!

Yes, just rip a high quality CD (like the quality of the actual recording) to .WAV and be done with it.

Bitrate of a CD track: 44100kHz x 16bit x 2 channels = 1411kb/s. You just need to make sure you listen to CDs which are done from good master. Try telarc.

Not to be an "ass" but that headphones doesn't deserve anything higher than 192kbps. If you get something like a Sony MDR-V6/7506 or Sennheiser HD-280 PRO then it's worth every bit rate. Also rip it with Exact Audio Copy program to get identical bits into the .wa v files. To be faster, get a good CD player and plug your headphones there.
Love the sig, but it was too big.

I can send you a tweeter test if you want.. it's in some crappy compressed format, but it hits the high ranges nicely

    Edit:
I checked and it's in aprox 128kb (mp3 format) variable bit rate...
