No way....even in the official nr trailer the last player is using an HDTV LCD....of course this would be GREAT...playing with that controller on a wall...Revolution will be in my room, no matter the cost...

But isn't it strange that Nintendo are not supporting HD-technology...but they used a TC screen for the trailer? It's all trickery I think.
Thus they wouldn't need to support HD if they use projection...
I also think they could be using some form of Stereoscopic technology...
By the way I got the pic from...here
A guy has written a well thought out theory on it...and his aruement is hard to fault...

Well, the point is that a good projector costs and costs a lot. If they plan to launch it under the 300 bucks line is impossible they can put something like that in it...eve though the article you linked is really interesting

Hmm...the thing is people said the same about the current technology Nintendo has in the Revolution controller. Nintendo solved that solution by buying equity in that company.
Anyways...
I think there is a chance Nintendo really are going to have this...they have hinted to a move away from TV screen etc so I don't see why not...when ever I read those interviews I always thought projection but at the same time...what threw me off was the comments about it filling the whole room...
And if you look at the "Nintendo floor vision" thing from E3, you'll see Nintendo has recently dabbled in projection technology and are no stranger to it.

That was a very interesting read ST. Jude, thanks for that.
If this is going to be true that’ll be pretty amazing. I had already seen that video about Nintendo Floor and if there is a possibility of having something like that to play video games on in your own home, that would be awesome.
About the projection technology, wouldn’t it be possible to project it at like a wall for example so you wouldn’t necessarily need a projection screen. The comment about filling the whole room could of meant anything, it would’ve gotten me to think about 3d images projected right before your very eyes.

This also explains why there is no controller ports or memory slot on the front of the Revolution...because it would interfere with the projection. And it would also explain why the Revolution when in the stand is sitting slanted across, this is to project the images upwards.
Yeah you could definately project it on a wall...
The only thing that sticks out like a sore thumb is why Nintendo say you can use a monitor and TV...it seems backward to stick with those things if this is true...
I can't wait for E3 really...

Wow, great video! That's amazing, never saw that. Of course this technology it's amazing but what about the price? I still doubt that something like that will keep the price under the 300 bucks tag

St Jude where did you get this information from? It sounds very plausable, but I have a strong feeling its just a concept idea. That video of the floor vision I remember seeing before and being totally amazed. If they could implement that kind of technology with the Revolution I will be impressed. The floor vision certainly suggests that Nintendo have being working with different screen concepts.

I concur, St Jude not only did you not put a 5 word minimum in your first post, the thing you posted looks like a scan, and didn't provide a link or a source.

Yeah sorry for not providing the link in my first post but I did in my 2nd post.

It is a scan and it is an old scan this was an old rumour (that was never debunked btw) but only recently someone has managed to piece it all together to make any sense of it...
I still don't know if anyone has managed to de-bunk it even now. The only thing people seem to fault is that it wouldn't be cost effective to be under $300...and it would have to be a pretty good quality projector.

I just watched a new video game program on Spike TV, and the entire show was dedicated to Nintendo. They had the US president (forget his name) of Nintendo on for the entire show. He said all Revolution details will be revealed on May 9th. Nintendo fans, your wait is almost over

Re: Nintendo's last secret revealed...
Ok, this is OLD. Like, Last year's news old. And it's also been proven to be false, fake, a lie, stupid, retarded, and not to mention not true.

Well it hasn't been debunked...sceleratus rex...contrary to what you might believe. I never said it was new...read the thread I said it was old and it hasn't been debunked.
The only reason people give for it not being true is that it's too expensive...that's not debunking anything that's just speculating that the price is too much, thus knocking it to the side lines.
Anyways for those who believe other-wise...Nintendo have hinted a move away from the TV...So you tell me what other options are there left...?
Contrary to the belief that projection is too expensive, it has been proved not true (you can make a projector from a LCD monitor in fact, DIY projection look it up guys)...Augemented Reality and Stereoscopic technology is not as expensive as you might think.
And I'll tell you why...
Nintendo have proved if you research technology you can incorporate it yourself at a cheaper entry level. You might believe it is too high-end to bring to the market or for Nintendo to research but all it takes is for Nintendo to partner a technological company to learn how to use it. Often, it´s just not researched well enough or noone has been willing to take the financial risk of developing it for the mass market.
No one thought Nintendo could afford the technology they have in the Revolution controller...people were proved wrong by Nintendo partnering "Gyration" and bam they have the technology at their disposal for the home console business...
I believe...every sign points to it...from Nintendo saying you will go "wow" to Miyamoto "wanting to fill a whole room"

Notice (if the videos are real) They are all wearing glasses. It's like watching a movie in 3D.
But honestly, do you really think Nintendo of all people non-military would create hologen technology to use for Gaming purposes?
I'm sorry but I can't believe that. The controller is enough for me to take in let alone Hologen."It's real hard to be free when you are bought and sold in the marketplace.

It's going to happen one day Sin. Why is it so hard to see Nintendo bring something like that early?

But to see things in 3D, you no longer need to have any sort of headsets/glasses etc...a screen/TV/Monitor is good enough now to bounce images off....I just couldn't find any example at the moment for 3-D HP.
I have found one for Augmented Reality which I mentioned earlier.

You say that! But let me show you something that says something else...

A Nintendo patent fan, who looks out for Nintendo patents came across it...the patent has now disappeared within 2 days of him finding it...

Please do not double post.
What I meant to say was I would find it less likely for Nintendo to create hologen first.
It's still way too futuristic of a concept to be able to believe Hologen gaming (of all the uses for hologen) could come this day and in this age."It's real hard to be free when you are bought and sold in the marketplace.

Sorry for the double post...
Perfect Sin you obviously didn't read anything after your previous post...I can see your a sceptical guy and ofcourse...it would be a big step forward in terms of how we view images and video-games.
But your taking what I'm showing you as being a given or something that I'm thinking will happen, when I'm simply showing you the types of thing that are possible to replicate...the key word is here replicate. I'm not saying they will use those exact types of HP or Augmented Reality...that would expensive pieces of software/hardware to give out.
You take the Mario video I posted...the Nintendo Floor Vision...the patent article I posted and put them together. Nintendo have clearly played around with projection I don't know what sort though it could e straight-forward projection onto a screen or wall or a projection from screen to 3-D. The patent describes word for word a projection system...it is a tradtional projection system linked to a screen. And that is likely.
I'm a sceptical guy in general...but I am starting to see that there is possibility...

Spiffy, but a tad too grand in scope for me to believe, at least for a sub-$300 price tag. Don't get me wrong: Based on the patent info and the micro-projection info, it defenitely has that "cheap yet effective" edge that Nintendo is known for. However, just having a TV output is more cost-effective and less gimmicky. I'll just wait for E3.
Let's not forget: the secret Myamoto alluded to involved the controller, not the console in general."On the second day of the exhibition, representatives for the Convention Center announced that the line to see Nintendo's Wii console, which zigzagged around corners and promised a wait time of more than four hours, had broken every E3 record."
