Seems like they should rise that size limit again.
GamesIndustry.biz has learnt that Valve asked Microsoft if it was possible to place its award-winning Orange Box title, Portal, on Xbox Live Arcade for download, but that it was rejected.
"We'd love to do that. Right now it's something we'd love to do. I'd love to sell Portal on Xbox live," said Doug Lombardi, marketing director at Valve. "[But] the platform holders aren't doing that right now. There's a size limit and all kinds of other things.
"We've asked them, we said we were open to it. So it's a decision for the platform holder and how they want to make the games available and how much bandwidth they want to [allow]."
But Lombardi did hint that something might be possible in the future: "I think it's a trade-off, we'll see it one day.
"It always happens once it's been proven and I think it's been proven now on Steam, so I'm sure it'll migrate back to the consoles just like everything else does."
Portal was one of five titles available as part of last year's acclaimed Orange Box release, and won three awards - including Game of the Year - at this year's GDC event in San Francisco.
Microsoft increased the size limit for Xbox Live Arcade titles last March to 150MB, up from its previous limit of 50MB.

Why don't they go to PlayStation Network then?
If they want to sell it as that type of game, it's their fault they haven't managed it. XBLA isn't the only portal for portal.www.freerice.com - 20 grains of rice donated per answer

I've been waiting for it to come to either XBL or PSN as that is the only way I'm getting it, I can't stand playing HL games, something about the balence is off and it messes up my inner ear, I get a headache about 15 minutes after I start playing them. (I know Portal is seperate for the PC, but it's $20, screw that, it'd be $10 on PSN or XBL.)

Portal as a separate game on Live/PSN would be awesome. As long as it was cheap of course.
Behemoko - You probably get a headache because of Half-Life's field of view, it's different from most first person shooters.

I'd be very tempted by Team Fortress 2 + Portal as a package too. The Half Life series doesn't attract me at all, for all its merits.
I can't quite understand why, while the PSN does seem to be getting this idea of downloadable content, with a few proper-content titles on the PSN, XBLA seems totally against anything but ... fairly low quality games on XBLA. Addictive as hell some of them may be, but there is nothing of the next quality.www.freerice.com - 20 grains of rice donated per answer

Valve aren't big PS3 fans so I don't think we'll ever see Portal as a download for the PSN.
