I have watched all the videos and have read up on Home, but i am still not excited... it looks excellent having a home you can furnish (Sims anyone?) and a trophy room to store all your awards, a cinema for video downloads...etc...etc
i still seem to be unable to get excited about it, i suppose i don't want Home at all... i just want an online feature that works.. like Steam but on the PS3, Steam is brilliant and now it finally works it has a proper community with pages for each user to show who they are and what kind of gamer they are... you don't need a house with some sofas... i have one of those already.
Sony please i beg you... just make it work.. give us an in-game XMB, allow us to play our own music tracks in-game, give us a page where we can express ourselves by saying who we are, where we are from what we like and don't like and what kind of a gamer we are that's it...
I really wish i thought Home was a good idea, it looks great on paper but sadly in reality i feel it falls short

Because Murphy's law dictates nothing can be liked by everybody.
That would be the short answer at least, the full answer is one that only you would know, as what some like, others dispise. You could very well dislike everybody else's favorite feature.

It has those extra features that are going to be more clan related and such. So it is not just 1 on 1 talking like in 360 private talking. Also, this is good, you will not be affected from delays without hype and such.

well...certain things needs trying out before you developed a taste for it...i guess u should try Home out for certain amount of time before deciding on its appeal and features...i personally was excited when its first announce...now...im actually losing interest due to the delayS and sony being hush about it...i really hoped it has more features and innovation than steam or xbox live though..maybe that would entice you to Home
...one feature i still find cool though (other than the basic online matching features) is the ability to watch movies of the cinema with friends all around the world...but that's just me though..

I've lost nearly all interest in Home myself. It's hard to like as I've started to build up resentment to it after it's continual delays. Now I'm starting to realise that it's really an unimportant joke compared to the functionality of In-Game XMB. I want accomplishments, but I don't think I should have to need Home for that.
No matter whats said now, Home won't come out at years end anyway. It'll get delayed till March '09, the June '09, then Christmas '09. I'm not being sarcastic either, it seems to be too much for Sony to really pull off.
I'd shed no tears if it was pulled and we got the functionalities that we really need!psn id: craigiversen.
Currently playing: A whole lot of GTAIV - trying to 100% it while PSN is down. Mortal Kombat off-line.

Im not that excited, on the other hand I am
The beta was cool for about 3 days then after that its just boring!! Why am I excited? Sony knows that people lost interest during the beta after a few days, and all the delays are because sony is trying to make home better.

because sony hasn't set up marketing for home, because they knew it wouldn't be ready.
that's why.
plus. it's a feature. that's free.
It's not like "you" (or anybody else...) not being hyped/wanting home will kill sony's plan at success. If you don't want it, then don't download and install it, so the rest of us can enjoy a better bandwidth.
I, for one, am very interested in home, for its achievements and avatar creations. I can't wait to make a virtural me, that actually might make me feel like I'm in my ps3. It'll be a cool new feeling. Like the feeling of playing the wii with a mii you made to emulate yourself? Imagine that with more realism and minus being imported into an actual game [for now...]. lol. I'll enjoy it, especially for being [once again] FREE.

well you see all those things (to my knowledge) will be in home. and much much more.once its out it will be a great thing to have and imo you will be greatfull. and on it being boring, its kind of funny to me that you say that. its not a game. its just a cool online system of sorts thats never ben done before. teaming up with friends and such, as well as having new features.
and keep in mind that its FREE. sony is making ZERO dollars off this. they are doing it for nothing which is imo awesome. they are going threw problems and hardships to get this working for US. and i have more respect for them because of it. just my opinion
also in my opinion Steam is GARBAGE. its a cumbersome burden of a system that forces you to do things that you should not have to do. and requiring net access to play a not online game is just stupid and uncalled for. agen my opinion, so dont flame me lolIn the eyes of god I've died.Washed away,With the rain. I have lived 1,000 lies. Killed away all the pain. Bombs, and knives conscribe the days ahead, Still in the end I die. I have lived 1,000 lies. Killed away all the pain.

Your not excited because its a feature and not a game.
Everyone will use it but not everyone will be hyped about it.
My advice, stop trying to feel hyped for it and when it releases take a look and you will notice these features do matter but things like ingame xmb, one central point for loading games, watching movies and listening to music online with friends, playing games like pool, bowling, chess to pass the time, interacting with friends on the other side of the globe you haven't seen in years, having virtual everythings eg casinos, meeting virtual celebrities for movie promos, bringing in new features for games you have therefore expanding the life of each, watching the latest videos on games and movies before anyone else that does not have home and creating a virtual myspace/facebook etc are not something to be hyped for by everyone as they are only features.

Most people who dont have the beta have lost hype for it really .....they need to release a new trailer and a solid release date then the hype will return.
Retreat? ........HELL NO!,
Were just attacking the other direction!

1. i really don't care what you are hyped for or not hyped about
2. i'm really excited about HOME (yes the delays are nightmares to bare but **** happens) i can't wait for the 3D world of home to explore and go bowling with friends before jumping straight into a game with them and then going back in home and show your friends what you got on your HDD. then if i want to i'll buy some cool stuff for my apartment or get a better apartment lol

I was excited now frankly im over the idea. By the time it releases I think it will have been one of the biggest wastes of time... Trophy room is cool but coming out.. what 2 years after the console released? Great system. Not to mention the graphics are getting more dated by the day.
After all the bowling, darts, and pool in gta 4 i think ive had enough of that type of stuff as well...

I hear ya dude...I dunno if I'd say I was initially excited, maybe more interested, yep that's the word. But since **** has been happening on the matter, one has a hard time keeping that interest going.

ok i won't flame the person, but i spent 3.5 years using steam and it does have an offline mode.
I suppose Home does have some interesting ideas, but it does sound a lot like Second Life and i joined that because of a programme in England called The Gadget Show I spent 45mins in Second Life, started the think my first life was being eroded and hurridly shut down my pc.
Also idk if Sony have the resources to keep home up-and-running for a substantial amount of time, look at WoW for example, 11 million paying subscribers and yes not all of that money goes into running the servers but a chunk of it does, so as Home grows with the amount of consoles sell it will in theory surpass WoW as the largest online community.... are Sony going to ask for money to help keep it running?
If so, fine i don't mind paying a thing to Sony, i didn't pay for Live because of my hatred towards Microsoft but i love Sony and truly believe they can make a success of anything, i guess i just want to think that this is a good idea, sadly at the moment i don't...

The Sims and Second Life references are kinda pointless to make though. Home is just going to be an online infrastructure for connecting with other people to play. There's more to it than that, but that's the main draw of it. It's not a game. It's not something to be hyped up about for any reason other than the fact that hopefully many people will be on it, and it will be a very cool experience.
I used to be really pumped about Home but I've lost most of my interest. When it comes out, I will definitely use it, but I no longer care when it's coming out. I've just learned to pretend it doesn't exist and never will.
