    Japanese Wasps: Pure Insanity

A breed of wasps in Japan called the Giant Hornet are known for following:

    1. Being 3 inches long.

    2. Spraying flesh dissolving acid onto victims, mostly the eyes.

    3. Spraying "Targets" with a pheromone that attracts all wasps within the hive to attack and kill the target.

    4. Insane: Frequently raid rival hives (of other species) with only 30 or so wasps on their side. They have been known to wipe out an entire hive of 40,000 bees at a time.

After the carnage, all that is seen are hundreds upon hundreds of body parts everywhere, and not a dead Japanese wasp in sight. They use their powerful mandibles to literally bite all other insects in half.

    Illustrated (violently) in this video:

Violent aren't they? Oh and get this: They live every and anywhere in Japan. It isn't like "Well you're safe if you live in "X" part of Japan". No, you're pretty much screwed.

For the last few mornings, I've been woken up by a bee/wasp in the window, constantly buzzing. After watching this video, I think I'll take a swatter with me tonight.

I couldn't stop watching! Somewhere in that timeframe I saw a 27cm centipede absolutely dominate a mouse. It was pretty gross.

A lot of species of bees have the ability to decouple their wings from their wing muscles. They use this to kill hornets.

    How, you ask?

Let hornet into hive. Surround hornet. Decouple wing muscles. Move them furiously.

The bees generate a LOT of heat. The hornet gets heatstroke. The bees are fine to a couple degrees hotter than the hornet.

    ^Basically what seebs said.

They allow the hornet to think the hive is underprotected and let it come in. Once that happens they swarm they hornet generating a temperature too hot for the hornet to handle. (the hornet's limit is like 113 degrees fahrenheit as I recall)
