I woud say out of the two , Mac is better , Windows is just too slow and sloppy , the amount of time it will freeze when loading something is beyond a joke.

Having the internet , Vuze , Photoshop and Illustrator running at once is as slower than a snail after taking sleep pills.

Sounds like another mac fanboy statement.

I never have freezing problems. To be honest, I can't remember the last time my computer actually froze. I think maybe 6 years ago when I had a ****ty computer. That's probably it.

You pay 2x the price for the same hardware, you can play very little games, its an apple product, safari blows, OS X is quite sluggish....

I just don't see the benefit here.

oh man there was a bumper argument over this in a facebook "i hate slow computers" a few days back. I will say now what i said then...build your own pc. It'll still be half the price of a mac, and every component will be of your own choice. If not that, get xp. i admit vista sucks, but xp is the way to go if you dont want apple and dont want vista.

I know. Building a PC is the way to go. And if you are so inclined to run OS X, then build a PC and run it on that.

Linux is faster. Not user friendly thought. Has a learning curve. Ubuntu is pretty easy to learn though.

I was joking too. Hence the 'playful' rolleyes. But now that you mention it, someone said something a while back that is all too true. They were speaking of the consoles, but the same principal applies here:

"Owning both consoles doesn't mean you're not a fanboy. It just means you own both consoles."

Anyway, I have nothing against Macs, I just can't justify the price.

OSX is certainly simpler and seems to be less prone to software related issues. It's the best choice for a filmmaker like myself. I'm just tired of Windows.

Of course, any OS's speed is bogged down over time with more and more software.

Ubuntu is known to be the best supported Linux Distro out there in terms of hardware, documentation, vendor support, etc. I would say that makes it superior to mint.
