The only RPG's worth mentioning in my opinion are;
Dark Chronicle, Kingdom Hearts, Wild Arms, Jade Cocoon 2. But you can't really compare them to FFX - well maybe Dark Chronicle (If you liked Dark Cloud) but generally the FF's are the Best.
My suggestion is get Dark Chronicle. You get to build towns, upgrade weapons/vehicles and explore dungeons etc. If your not into that though maybe Kingdom Hearts - it's got Disney characters in it but you can avoid annoying FF style random battles so I guess that makes up for it.

I agree with him. If you havn't played Kingdom Hearts, I suggest you pick it up and try it, there's also the latest Arc the Lad, which turned out better than I expected.
Dark Cloud 2, Xenosaga, Wild Arms 3, and the .Hack games, are all good, try any of those.

My favorite Rpg is Suikoden 2. the first one is good, but so far the second is the best. unfortunatly, they are on playstaion 1, so i guess you aren't going to try them. there is a third one on the ps2

Watever you believe or make yourself believe, thier will be nothing equall or even close enough to the FF series espicially 7, 8, X & X-2 they have been the best in the series so far.
No rpg can compare itself to the might of FF
A true Masterpiece and will always remain one too

Rpg-wise, I will agree, FF is very very very good. But The Suikoden games you can get up to 108 characters
You may not agree, but all of them are very fun and worthwhile games to play.
Thanks Dragonlance, and it was in paint.

I belive Dark Chronicle is what the PAL version of Dark cloud 2 was called
well it was called that over here anyway"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."

yes, ive heard that it was called dark chronicle for europe and japan. We dont use Palsicam here though. Although it is a feature of many foreign Dvds and VCRs, but it doesnt work good. I love dark cloud the story line is very well though out although i found some incredible similarities to FF7 line.
If i were asked which one would be of higher standard id consider them equal.

What no XENOSAGA tisk tisk
I recommend Xenosaga that's a really good RPG and it's only $20 now as a PS2 greatest hits title.

Re: What no XENOSAGA tisk tisk
Am I the only person that thought every part of the gameplay was... weird? I thought it was a great RPG, but there was something odd about it.

IBM, Toshiba, Sony Renew Cell Partnership
Recently a Reuters report announced that Sony, Toshiba and IBM have confirmed a renewal on thier co-production partnership which stemmed the development and release of the Cell chip. The chip is slated to be the heart and brain on Sony's next-generation game console, Playstation 3. The renewed partnership will last a futher 5 years.
The PS3 will be the first major consumer electronic device that uses the new Cell chip which the three companies spent over $400 million in tech research and development to produce. The initial partnership of the firms to devolop the Cell was formed in 2000 and now is ready to release the Cell to the World.
The firms are also looking at the possibility of implementing thier new chip in a myriad of other consumer electronic devices such as high-end television and audio equipment. Reuters claimed that the Cell could find initial applications in the field of medicine and military platforms, but they have since issued a correction regarding those fields of use.
The companies futher went on to state that the renewed partnership will be extremely benificial to the next-generation of chip research where they expect to be producing 32-nanometers and beyond, which is significantly greater than todays Cell technology.

Good article!
I've always found it quite ironic that Sony and Toshiba have worked together so well with Cell, yet they are competing with Blu-ray and HD-DVD
