Hi,
Can anyone recommend a decent headset (wireless preferably) that doesn't cost loads?
I've just started online gaming on Rainbow Six 2 and COD4 and want to chat to other gamers.
p.s my username is redkevster if you want to add me on!

You get a free one with warhawk by Jabra. I reccomend that you look at their range as that works fine. I normally just use my playstation eye these days as its always plugged in.

I'm actually looking into this also. I'm debating on waiting on the MGS4 bluetooth headset or trying to find a good one that's already out. Does anyone know if the MGS4 headset has noise filtering feature on it. Does anyone have any good suggestion of headsets that are already out?

bluetooth headset
i use a Jabra BT135. you can find them for around $15 with shipping.
i only use it for ps3 and i am very happy.
best bang for your buck -> IMO.
dont get something with noise cancellation, like the jawbone.
if you find a great deal on a refurbished bluetooth headset, buy 2 of them because 50% end up DOA.

Not really relevant, but I was wondering how headsets worked with PS3 games. Do the speakers talk to everyone playing the game? Or if I was playing in a big match with a friend, could I just speak to him?

There is a HUGE list on the official forum, Jabra 125 seems to have best reviews, last time I checked anyway.

You cant go wrong with the Jabra's....I grabbed one a few months back through Verizon to use with my Chocolate cellphone, and it works perfect with my PS3.
Can hear people great, and they hear me great too.

Man it's fathers day coming up and i've just gotta get me a headset!
Thanks for all your help but one final question...Is wireless, bluetooth (is there a difference?) or one with a cable best?

Man now I'm confused, I don't know if I want to get the Jabra, the Giotek, or wait on the MGS4 head set when it comes out? I want one with a good bluetooth connection and no interference, and clear audio, and a mute button for myself.

The Jabra 125 or whatever is what, £12.99? I think, go for it! Best reviews that i've seen, cheapest too. For 12.99 you cant really go wrong. If it doesnt pair with the PS3, or just doesnt work - take it back!
Just pop into a mobile phone store like Three, Nokia, Orange etc. They should have a wide selection of bluetooth headsets, any will work.
Wifi and bluetooth are different, mainly in the way data is transfered. Bluetooth is a lot slower, also the range is limited.

Yeah I see them on the UK Ebay site, I think they will deliver to the U.S. They have them for 20euros? Never bought anything from the UK, is this the same value as $20.00?

Despite a lot of people saying they have had many problems with Motorola's, i have one that i got free with my phone (Motorola HS820) and it has done me well. Not a single problem. Other than the fact that it is slightly uncomfortable on the ear when worn for a long period of time.
Other than that, no pairing issues that people complain of. When it's free, why not?

I think we get more euros for the pound, so £20 may be around 30 euros, I'd guess 20 euros is like $25-30

I use my eyetoy lol.
A good one would be Jabra Bluetooth headset. Comes with the warhawk game.
