Someone on the IGN GameCube Lobby posted some info from the new EGM. Now, I don't have the new EGM yet, so I can't confirm these as actually being in the magazine. There was a couple interesting tidbits from the rumors section concerning the PS3:
The one about game makers moving projects to PS3 is very interesting, to say the least.Change of plans. After seeing PS3's power several big-time gamemakers have moved projects from XBOX 360 to PS3
MGS4 will be OFFICIALLY announced for PS3 at E3

You sound surprised PS Gamer, Sony outsold the competition 4 to 1, what are they gonna do jump on the Xbox 360 bandwagon and sell less games?

That came from the EGM editor at G-A Forums.Different people from a couple major co's telling us they were doing it doesn't count as proof?
Edit: To be clear, projects move all the time. It could be part of a larger trend, it could not be. That's why it's in the Qmann section and not proper 'news' really.
Xboys, just relax. You'll have plenty to get excited about come E3.
I do hope it's true.

Well Sony will have there games Nintendo will have there games and Microsoft will have there games.. it just depends on what games you like.. all of them will have ports of some kind.. but if you have a craving for NEXT Gen. and you cant wait till next summer or fall then pick up or make a friend thats getting Xbox360..

Stop trying to sell something that its there yet busta, i think people can make their own choice because its their wallets. Any ways in light of the resent news ive got a big grin on my face, because this not only means that there will be less exclusives on the xbox 360 but also if the PS3 is going to be that more powerful then its going to have some clout coming E3 time. Although some other honest member will probably beat my opinions half to death.

I wasn't aware of either company announcing any games officially, anyway in the next few months I expect MS to announce more games, most of MS's games are in house while a lot of Sony's games are 3rd party, 3rd party Dev's announce games when they want to and theyr ready to, MS will have a game plan on the other hand, it seems like MS have very little 3rd party support this gen all thats been announced are ports and in house games, all that's really been confirmed for PS3 though is MGS4.

I'm curious, could this qman secret just be an re-iteration of what we've heard from EA?? If I recall, on several occasions EA has said the PS3 is way more powerful, and consdering they're a suck up to Sony, maybe they feel they need to move their new next gen games to the PS3?? Basically, this could be a very specific and old piece of information.
Another thing a company called Ninja Theory ( they made a game called kung-fu Chaos for the Xbox) was originally planning to make a game for the X2, but Sony bought the publishing rights... could this be part of what they're talking about??
Basically, I'm just saying don't take it for fact... but I guess that's redundant??

EA are all about the money and PS3 is inclined to be more successful and sell more copies of games like PS2 did so they would naturally suck up to Sony but on the other hand a company as big as EA lying is unlikely not to mention they'll have the most qualified people to give information about hardware and the money to play around with next-gen hardware to give the best interpretation of what can be done with next-gen hardware so I'll beleive EA in what they say.

The PS3 is slated to be released in early 2006 for Japan. That would mean it's only ~3-4 months behind the Xbox360. So either, there aren't a lot of games to be announced for the PS3, or the launch will be delayed. (or Sony wants to 'surprise' us at E3) I'm going with there aren't a lot of games to be announced.

Good point.. i always thought sony was holding off cause of the US release.. but i think about it they are releasing in Japan first so where are the games if its only 3 months behind Xbox360.. it has to have support its SONY.. there should be games being announced for it already whats up??

Alright let me delve back to my education on Sony's marketing strategy...
Theyr going to stay quiet, dead quiet then BOOM info is flying everywhere for a few months, the world if saturated with the PS3 until it comes out!
When the PSP was coming out nobody knew it was goiing to exist then a few rumors, a few more rumors, E3 comes and somebody spreads a big rumor about something called "PSP", wtf is PSP everybodies wondering and then some shots of PSP art work.. nice but is it real, everybody tunes into E3 and BADDABOOM ITS THE PSP.. the result? PSP wins the highlight of E3 award and during those few month becomes the most searched for gadget on the entire world wide web... so what about the games? We saw about 8 games at E3 and thats it, DS put out a list of 100 Devs and about 60 games... PSP?? Nothing... a few weeks later nothing...
Sitting down drinking some coffee, you log onto IGN and hey look something about the PSP, oh look the PSP have put together a neat little Dev list, BADDABOOM 150 Devs worldwide... BADDABOOM nearly 200 games scheduled and this list was released a few weeks before Japanese release, the full list was compiled a week before the release and all the big titles weren't announced till the last minute, the PSP was already on sale when they announced GTA PSP and look at the result, PSP outselling DS 3 to 1 in Japan and tearing it a new butthole in weekly sales over here too... same stuff with the movies, theyr bottle feeding people and UMD movies have been about 5 times more successful than predicted, even I though UMD's will fail but because of Sony's clever marketing strategy they always leave you wanting more.
Sony's marketing strategy is to make you want something, they are not trying to sell you something because when you try to sell somebody something its your duty to make it work, when you WANT something your the one doing the actions and you feel inclined to buy it, Sony have always gone down this road with all their producsts especially with the PS2 and PSP and theyr doing the same with the PS3.[Currently looking for an applicable banner]

I think Sony has a better marketing strategy than Microsoft. Ive been doing the Our Colony Game and it didnt really make me hyped up about the release of the XBOX 360 it just made me frustrated and sleep deprived...........BADDABOOM!!!!!...sorry i just had to do that.

Although you think it sucks.. Microsoft got you to know it.. they are keeping you up all night trying to solve the puzzles to figure out more info about Xbox360.. or else you wouldnt be loosing sleep over it or become frustrated.. BADDABOOM!!!!!

Also of note, we haven't seen a single thing regarding the marketing of the PS3 yet. Originally they planned to show it off at end of march, but that was cancelled.

I think MS are doing pretty good so far by trickling information, makes you want to find out more but Sony are doing better obviously, they haven't revealed anything but theyr still generating more interest for the PS3 than MS are doing so for the Xbox 360, Analysts are predicting a white wash with PS3 outselling Xbox 360 and Revolution better than PS2 outsold XBox and Gamecube so right now MS are in a better position

Why would you release something about your console a full year before its even going to see the light of day in your living room... thats why sony isnt bringing forward any information.. there still probably determining what they want it to look like have in it or w/e.. microsoft is releasing it this fall/winter so they already had all there stuff planned out.. atleast thats my take on it. Same thing with games.. why waste all your hype now, then wait a full year to prove it.. instead wait till its a little closer to release and then youll have people being like cant wait to get ps3.. sorta like whats happening with xbox360.
And one of the reasons sony is gaining just as much interest is because they HAVENT said anything.. microsoft has shown part of its hand and everyones eyeing sony to see what they will pull out.. thats the only reason why.. i bet you if they both spilled there guts about both consoles then youll be able to see which console is geting more attention.

04-25-2005 #24Please provide even one link to an analyst that predicted the PS3 would do that great compared to the Xbox360 and Revolution.

I couldn't find the one that I wanted to show you, that was a better article with more trusted analysts who predicted the PS1 would be successful when it was failing, they predicted the PS2 will outsell the Xbox 4 times(85:20) before they even came out, this article will have to do, I can't find the one Gamebiz put up either, some help here guys!
http://gamesradar.msn.co.uk/news/def...sectionid=1584
They predicted it would outsell the the XBox 360 3:1, this is on a site which is owned by MSN who are owned by Microsoft, the guy who made the prediction works for MS, need I say more?[Currently looking for an applicable banner]
