Some interesting points have been raised with that article. Now with the PSP, and awaiting the new gameboy, its going to be a joint crown going into this war of handheld. PSP holding the left side of the crown, while the new gameboy and ds holding the right side of the crown is how I see it.

Nintendo have definetly slipped but I still think they make some excellent games and I'll be inclined to pick up a next-gen Gameboy and Revolution, still can't forget the good memories I've had with Ninty and I'm confident they've finally woken up and decided to go with the flow while bringing theyr classic franchises with them, Revolution sounds good so far withthe wi-fi and VGA outputs etc.

At the end of the day Sony are doing exactly what they did to Sega in 1995. They are bringing out a superior product, with a wider range of games and stealing developers loyalty. Couple that with tried and tested business practice and an extensive marketing strategy and you are only going to get one winner.
Nintendo made a huge mistake relying on the youth market in my opinion, in doing so they have excluded a wide range of adult gamers, who until 1995 and PSone, wouldn’t be caught dead playing a “video game“. For this reason they will never have the same revenue potential as Sony who have a good hold in both the youth and adult markets. Nintendo have been relying too much on so-called 'innovation' [Dual Screens?] and not enough on marketing strategy and the technological level of their hardware if you ask me.
However, that said Nintendo aren’t exactly doing bad for themselves. If they want to compete with Sony they are going to have to re-think their strategy. Unfortunately for them that would go against their target youth market. I’m glad Nintendo are still around because they still offer quite a lot to the gaming industry, but I just hope Nintendo can get some more adult games, like the author of that article at Tom’s Hardware pointed out like; Bionic Commando, Operation Wolf, Ikari Warriors, SmashTV, and Rescue: The Embassy Mission. Classic titles which worked great back in Nintendo’s hay day.

I think 'innovation' is the best thing about nintendo. If Noone tries new concepts and ideas with gaming consoles then there will be no original games to play out there. I mean think of Eye Toy Sony night have stuffed that u but it turned out to be a good idea. And now Nintendo might be using '3d Display' and other new ideas for the revolution. Im hoping that the console will blow us away with all the crazy ideas they have implemented and shutup all the Nintendo Haters.

I wonder how much it is going to cost the consumer if they were to break the lens or w/e projects the 3d display.

It wouldnt cost that much to make it durable. Unless of course someone is really angry and starts smashing it up with a bat......i dont think it would be able to withstand that

Probably alot, but it would serve you right for smashing a controller that has a sreen in it that can produce 3D images.
At least, im sure thats what they would say when you tried to get a new one. There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness. - Friedrich Nietzsche

Would be expensive putting two TFT's in a controller, I wonder if they'll charge as much as the other consoles for the Revolution, tough sell without movie playback though.
