getting it for sure, can't wait to be honest. these games get bad reviews, but there is nothing quite as fun as having a few mates over and trying to beat each others records in various events and competing for them gold medals. in fact yesterday when someone came over i had to switch MGS4 off and we booted up my ps2 to have another go at our records in winter olympics 2006.
i just hope they make local multiplayer good on this one and make it less to do with how fast you can mash buttons and more with timing and precision. also wondering how the judo event will work out and whether online will be any good.

Should be good.
Yeah the online sounds interesting. Its a great game for playing with mates, sports games usually are. Button combinations will play a big part, I hope they got the 800m or 1500m that was great fun, trying to preserve your energy lol.

well the good things i found about it are:
Multiplayer: four people can play on one system, up to eight can compete online. Leaderboards will be present, of course, to track records.
i guess i will at last be able to find out if anyone can beat me in 100 sprint :P
and:
Career mode: Organise your daily schedule and customize your chosen team with agility, power, stamina and speed for competition in over 38 events.
so i am pretty sure the 800m or the 1500m should be there, including more strange ones like gun shooting, judo and some other ones we not used to seeing in similar games.

I cannot wait for this either. I love olympic games I really do. Now with online mode this is going to rock!!!!!
I even loved track & field on the 360
I tried opening a new thread, but this game does not seem to have much appeal

I always loved games that had to do with the olympics. The only bad part is that I used a lighter to press rapidly the X and O buttons and I ruined many ps1 and ps2 controllers

I think I will be boycotting this game. Its probably a fun game, but everything about the beijing olympic build up has been grossly inhumane imo.

rented the game today, alot of button mashing and it does look better then the last one i played (2004) but me and my mate got bored of it after a few hours
1. it was mainly button mashing
2. my friend is crap at button mashing and also at the rest of the game
also didnt really wanna go all out with the analogue spinning and stuff seeing how my last control broke by just playing resistance -_-
