PSN Cards FINALLY Hitting Stores

Ok, now I searched this with the search function and didn't find anything... so my bad if it was already posted.

No announcement accompanying this, so I guess Sony are looking at soft-launching the things, but reader Terry sent us these pics of some PlayStation Network pre-paid cards available right now at his local Meijer store. Both $20 and $50 denominations are available, and Terry lets us know that (like the card says), unlike those for, say, the Wii, the PSN cards are only activated once they've been run through the register. Good news for those of you who can't or don't want to use a credit card to buy things off of the PSN.

Cool. So it's exact pricing? Like a 20 dollar PSN card costs, 20 dollars? Hopefully.

Cool, it will probably take awhile before they arrive in Europe but, atleast they're coming. Finally able to buy stuff without using my Dad's credit-card.

I'm pretty sure that's how it works. I didn't see any confirmation from anybody on that page, but that's how it seems.

And to dot-notdot, it'll probably take a while for it to come to Europe, just like everything else Sony does.

Glad they have those things finally ready.
It would be nice though if they would become available in Europe as well soon.

I wonder if those things can be activated and then shipped to Europe, or how does this work?

Well alright, my bad. I guess it's cause I searched for "PSN Cards" in the title (instead of just Card) because I only got back like 4 searches and none of them talked about PSN cards being out in the US (only speculation and about Asia).

So when will they actually hit stores where people go to buy games? You know, like GameStop? I figured GameStop would be the smartest choice to get them first considering you know, they sell games.

I hope they hit gamestops and ebgames because if I dont have to use my credit card to get PSN stuff (games, game addons) then I will most def use these.

Only difference is Kotaku used my real name.

Those pictures posted above, were taken by me (the picture at Meijer in the PS3 section was taken with my Verizon LG something cell phone).

In case no one saw anywhere, only Meijer carries the cards right now, since PSN Cards are kind of in a beta phase you can say (like MGO and Warhawk were betas).
