Official Diablo 3 Thread - Its Finally Here!

Finally picked up Diablo 3 yesterday. Started a Demon Hunter but noticed quite a bit of lag from when I click the mouse button to when the character actually fires. Graphics lag, I presume? (Though I'd be surprised as I've got a decent card).

Brevik is actually competent at his job and created a successful IP. What have you done with your life you brat manchild? Apart from spend a decade simply trying to make one sequel to Diablo II that ended up being half assed and has an appalling amount of the population vacating the servers?

All respect for Blizzard South = lost. At least the big dogs at the top of that team.

And I love the comments on that FB post. Like "Well we made one of the highest selling games in history!"- yea, because of the goodwill and hype engendered by a fanbase who absolutely loved the first two titles and still play them habitually to this day.

They simply assumed D3 would be another quality entry in the series, and so they all threw money at you.

High resolution and "ok" 3d Graphics do not a wonderful game make. Absolutely my and Brevik's criticisms hold merit. Has anybody checked out the drop rate for D3?

I read the entire interview. My point was your lashing at that Jay guy has not merit. You have a bunch of people that don't like the way the game is, so they don't play it. It's a choice.

What would you suggest the game be like to make it as good as D2/LOD? Can you link me to a game this guy is making that is superior to D3?

I like all the changes they are making, the games is going to be alot more fun once 1.04. is released.

I've played more than 300hours with my wiz alone... i guess i'd be lvl50 paragon already

The game was released in 2000 @ 640 x 480. When LOD was released in 2001, it added 800 x 600. Eleven years later, you can't officially increase the resolution.

The real money auction house.
The level 60 cap.

The fact that there is no real 'character' building, as you can swap all your skills out in under 10 seconds and just wait for the cool down to do it again.

Removal of Rune words
The messed up loot drop system.
The completely imbalanced mode difficulties, though I realize they've made long strides in correcting this.
The plot is absolutely pathetic lol. I get that gamers "don't play Diablo for the plot" but that being said, it was incredibly weak.

So, blizz makes D1, lvl 50. Makes the next installment, which fixed that issue in a few years. The issues they had in D2 was enormous too... of course, you can just assume if they made the game, it'd be superior lol. If you're going to say character build ni D2, then you're extremely narrow on that end. They've done the exact same type of charter building, except skill wise, instead of stat wise. Ridiculous to try and say that D2 had a good char build system compared to D3. They are different, yes, but they are equally the same in how well they are. Loot drop, messed up, how? Plot? The plot wasn't worth two shits in D2 or LOD, in the fact that most online play wasn't about the stupid ass plot. The same as it is now. Game length in D2/LOD is extremely short too. Jesus. I can beat the game with another character in less than an hour. I can take my lvl 90+ with a lvl 1 and have them lvl 80 in an hour to say the least.

Then bring up Tochlight lol. Yeah, welcome to Diablo 2.5... At least they have a better resolution there. smh

Just for shits n giggles, I loaded up LOD. Joined an act1 hell game and got them through to baal in less than a half hour lol. Now they can spam lvl till their heart is content.

Gee, why would they be leaving en masse? An exodus that is truly epic? Well certainly it couldn't be that gamers are dissatisfied with Diablo 3. I mean after all, its "new" and "different"!

But I guess, for you, that's ok because somehow this still fits the 'vision' of this "new and improved non D2.5 game" even though they're reverting back to ways more similar to the "classic diablo" formula that made things work.

So I guess you'd rather have a broken game that is 'visionary' and treads new ground just so long as it doesn't fit this nebulous definition of being "Diablo 2.5".

"Skill wise?" You mean "let me change all of my skills on the fly and totally change my character in 10 seconds?" That is in no way similar. Not even remotely. Hell, you can't even assign character attribute points or unlock skills yourself. Easy mode.

And sure, once you know all the tips and tricks and are familiar with D2 you can formulate strats to do that shit in a very short amount of time. Then again, the game has been out for 10 years so this stuff is now common place.

But where is the D3 equivalent of key runs? and the stones of jordan? Ubers? Oh yea, nowhere to be found.

But I guess having a broken Inferno mode, that Blizzard admitted they didn't even fully make it through in testing, "transcends this limitation" as its so damn hard that you'll be spending hours fighting not bosses- but regular mobs. God forbid you run into a pack of blues or yellows. Especially the ones that duplicate.

Level up to 60 and get some decent items.
Act1 on inferno is pretty easy. You can get through if you spend only a few K on the AH.

Act2+ will kick your ass though

We all loved D2 but it's very old by now. I played it to death from 2000 to 2005.
Maybe you forgot how little content D2 had when it was released?!
No runes, No Charms, No Juwels, No worthwhile uniques or Sets, only 4 Acts (including an imo boring Act2).

Sounds almost like D3 doesn't it?!

D3 is getting much better with the next patch.
At least we don't have to wait one year till the issues are fixed via an Expansion Pack (for extra cash).

Basically you wanted a sequel that was act vi. The post above mine pretty much says a lot about what yo aren't taking into consideration.

Stopped playing about 3 weeks after release.. I only recently got re interested again due to the comments made by Jay Wilson and the latest patch coming out.

And yea, I was attempting Inferno with really high spec'd gear my friends (WoW guys who define the word 'grinding' lol) gave me because they no longer needed it. It was just the first act. I grew bored, in particular because at the time alot of the WD's skills were useless at that level.

Drops seem buffed, i alrady found 2 legendaries in 1.04.
