When do you reckon were set too see COD5?

Hi guys, Well as you may or may not know COD5 was posted up on the www.game.co.uk website a week or ago, However there is no release date.. Im just wondering when do you guys think it will be released is there a chance it will be released this year or maybe early next year? I cant see it being too long considering its just recently been added.

Call of Duty series has been released every year for the last 3 years in November right before XMAS break. I would expect it in November 2008.

im going to say march 2009 as that what ive seen it listed as although this will probably get delayed a month. i dont really care tbh as we have some great titles meanwhile including socom, fallout 3 and little big planet which will keep me entertained until cod5 and thats if i get cod5 ill wait and hear others opinions as from videos ive seen of it it looks CRAP. so i might give it a miss.

They have already shown a trailer and we have had in game impressions, Holiday this year for sure.

Yeah i was thinking this year. I think it might actually be quite good seen as its using cod4's game engine it'll be something different anyway.

Well if anything is going to make it good, its that Treyarc or w/e, has a full two years for development this time around, unlike COD 3 had. Although COD 3 wasnt terrible by any means.

Infinity Ward is working on Call of Duty 5 right? I know that the new Call of Duty World at War is NOT 5, they have said this in an interview, so I think we can expect something big for Call of Duty 5, as we saw from COD3 to COD4. Much more improved. I'm expecting an all new engine, possibly something similar to the Frostbite Engine, so destructible environments. I am expecting it to still be set somewhere during Modern times, not TOO futuristic. And please, no vehicles, keep the helicopters and airstrikes they had in COD4, but no drivable vehicles. It just takes away from the experience when there are vehicles.

Yeah i suppose, Im sort of looking forward to the vehicle addition but im unsure i think people are just going to hog things like that hopefully there arent any weapons like in Battlefieild:BC like that morter strike weapon thing that everyone rapes.

Uhm im unsure about it being 5, It might be.. Yes i dont think Infinty wards next call of duty should go too futuristic but its looking like they are going to.. i mean what havent they done yet.. They have done it all.. Past, present and now its likely going to be future.

Call of Duty wont go futuristic on us. I dont think anyway, I think IW will do the modern series and Tyrach ( Cant spell ) will handle all WWII stuff. Thats my opinion anyway.

Probably around thanksgiving 2008. That would make the most sense for sales anyway.

I have a feeling this game will tank being that SOCOM is being released in September and will be the next big shooter so it is a horrible release date in my opinion.

I'm not interested really, in Call of Duty 5 since it's not being developed by Infinity Ward. By that I mean, I don't have a lot of high expectations for it.

THANK YOU FOR REITERATING THAT FACT TO EVERYONE. If everyone goes into this game with that mindset then there won't be any issues. 5 will most def. be developed by IW.. well at least i hope so.

Treyarch is trying to copy COD4 as it did so well, one example, hence the similar title - Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Instead of being just "Call of Duty (insert number here)".
