Mass Effect goes episodic on Live

    http://www.computerandvideogames.com....php?id=136269

22:01 BioWare's stunning-looking Xbox 360 action-RPG Mass Effect was first unveiled at last year's X05 amid promises that the game was set to be the first in an entire trilogy of sc-fi epics. Now however, Bioware's joint-CEO Ray Muzyka has revealed that the developer is planning to release additional episodic-style content for the game, linking and expanding storylines between major releases, available via Xbox Live.

While we've heard in the past that BioWare intends to support Mass Effect with release of "premium" downloadable Xbox Live content, speaking at GDC on the future of digital distribution, Muzyka elaborated, "With Mass Effect, the 360 game, we're planning on extensive post-release content bridging between storylines, bridging the gap between products".

Although no further details were revealed, it's exciting to hear that gamers won't be forced to wait ages between major Mass Effect releases to see how BioWare's vision for the series unfolds.
While I do understand why developers are making more this kind of games, I really hate it. I want to have my game on CD/DVD/Blu-Ray, not in HDD.

I like this. It doesn't mean the game won't come out on disc, it just means that they'll release downloadable content later on that extends the story.

Why is this a sudden revelation? We've known Mass Effect was meant to be episodic since the day the game was announced.

Its just extra downloadable content. KOTOR had this feature and they uppdated the game with more areas and items. Sounds like a good idea, cant wait for this game.

Keep an eye on the Kojima countdown clock

It ends in about six hours and 10 minutes, 9:00 PM EST.
