Flying in the face of common held beliefs regarding texture resolution, why didn't I think of that?

Texture reolsution is limited by 2 things:
1- Performance, too high a res and your going to kill you GFX card
2- Video Ram/ Memory, lets just cram 600 mb of textures into 512mb why not hell weve got Blu-ray?

<shakes head>
You have completely failed to see my point, im not talking about extrem HD resolution wich "kill my GFX card", i said higher better resolution!!! BECAUSE a multi platform game for example wich use 9GB (completely filled xbox game) that means the developers maybe had to compress some textures wich could actually look a little bit better if they had a little bit more storage to use, im not talking about differences where you need a high end GFX card, so i really don't get it why you even mentioned it? It's a COULD and you really can not proof it otherwise.

I recomment you to read this article: http://kotaku.com/5031985/rage-and-i...p-with-the-ps3

Last night John Carmack took to the stage at QuakeCon and inadvertently ignited a fanboy flamewar.

id's upcoming open-world shooter Rage, he told the assembled gamers, will look worse on the Xbox 360 because of storage issues.
And before you say "bla bla rage they know ****" ect, you better think about it because these statements does not come from any forum user like we are, it comes straight out of the mouth from a neutral DEVELOPER who definitely knows much more about these things then we all do together do, that is FACT!
