I've had two, three if you count the PS3 as a PS2... anyway, the first one stopped reading discs, so I called up Sony (way after warranty was up) and they sent me a new one just like that, great customer service if you ask me.

my new launch ps2 stopped reading discs about 4 years later, replaced and my dad took it when i went to college, bought a third and pawned it 3 yrs later to make college funds, bought a fourth about 2 months ago and traded it up to a ps3 a month later

I'd say around 3 all because of idiotic mishaps.... The first one broke because I decided to open it up because it was dirty.... and another because my little brother dropped it down the stairs.... the other time was just a mystery pretty sure it involved some kind of drink though....

Sold my first PS2 (fat) for a newer PS2 (fat) and now it's put away in a box.

My PS2 (Slim) is in my car

I had 3/4 PS2's. The first failed but Sony repaired it.

Then the repaired one completely died so I bought a new one.
That one failed after one day, so I returned it to the store for my 3rd PS2.

Now I've got 2 PS3's (a launch 60GB and a 40GB). So far each has worked flawlessly [crosses fingers].

I had two. The fat one from launch. Then it stopped working around Sept of 2004 (2005?) so I bought the new Slim. But found out later that it just needed a cleaning.

I'm on my first. My PS2 has been going for more than 7 years now. Only thing worth mentioning is the disc tray makes a pretty loud grinding noise whenever I open/close it. Otherwise it works perfectly.

i have a one from 2001 ps2 still going strong but going to buy like 5 more 2 of them to use and put my old fat one with the 3 others then buy a nice tv and a bunch of games and put them in a time capsule so my grandkids can see the greatest system ever

i broke my fat one trying to mod it to play backups and imports. then i got a slim one and mod it to do swap magic.

I only had one, bought it from America, probably a couple of months after it came out. Took it back to my country, had it modded and it is still with me right now! But my friend has it, his borrowing it cause his one broke. lols

I only had 1 PS2. I bougt the budle with Gran Turisom 3 and it lasted a long time. I sold it when i bought my PS3, i wonder if it still functions.

I'm going to be like some of those people on some 360 thread but it's true in my case.

Have 2 PS2, 1 launch, 1 slim-launch. Both are still working fine and still frequently in use.

Two , both FAT ones, first one broke , as launchish one, kept upright DVD broke, from that time on, kept all my ps's flat

I've had two, Bought the first one 50/50 with my brother when he went to to collage he took it, what a ******. It got stolen his first year in the dorm.

2nd I bought worked fine, sold it shortly before the ps3 came out.

Two. I lost the big ole clunky original to a 24 hr race in Gran Turismo. The 2nd slim one stayed with me until the end...or is that the beginning?...when I got a PS3.

I guess I was a lucky one. I got my PS2 at launch (Fatty!!) and it worked up until the day I got my PS3, which was also obtained at launch.
