Ack! What's wrong with Microsoft!? While it definitely looks better than doa3 (in some screen shots at least--the one with the chain in it comes to mind and the one with the blinding light and the black woman in it) if this is indeed doa4 then the xbox 360 is going to be ridiculously underpowered compared to ps3, which disappoints me to no end as I'm a HUGE xbox fan. But you'd have to be an Xbox fanboy indeed to say that Sony can't top these screen shots with their next system.

One Sony rep said that the next generation of systems were supposed to be true leaps in graphical performance and not "Xbox 1.5," which--to me--is what these screens represent. God I hope this isn't Dead or Alive 4...cause if it is, no amount of customisation of the console and innovations in Xbox Live are going to save Microsoft from the Sony juggernaut...I guess I'll find out later on tonight...

Don't let them screenshots fool you. I agreed though they do look just a step up from DOAU, but we will have to see the final or the game in action before we make that assumption. You can't judge the power of a console off one game either. Remember this is earlier in the console life as well. I think we as gamers being caught up in all the hype are starting to expect much more out of these next gen system then the companies might put out. Don't get me wrong the next gen will be leaps and bounds beyond the current, but I say give it time and don't get your hopes up to high for what you expect the next gen to be, because you might get disappointed by expecting too much. Wait until the unveiling tonight and see. I telling you though the real stuff won't come until E3

I thought DOA4 was an Xbox1 title. Or it was coming for Xbox360? I'm confused. I thought they were just recently shifted to Xbox360 so this might mean the screenshots are from the Xbox1 version but eventually with time we'll see the improvements.

BTW, what makes you think these screenshots are not next-gen. I think they are quite up there with quality and poylgon power. It looks frikkin GORGEOUS to me! Nothing wrong there even if its not what you expected, its DOA you genius.

Ok, I was just about to edit my post though and say that it might be from the Xbox version of doa4 like ultima suggested and if that's the case then I'm pleasantly surprised the system can pull off those kinds of visuals, but I guess that's to be expected having seen Doom 3. And then too, the website says that those pics are from the next generation Xbox so that threw me for a loop too.

But really though, I'm not expecting that much from the next gen consoles in terms of graphical performance, I just expect to see things that can't be done on the current systems, which is why I was so upset when I saw these pics seeing as how I thought they were for the 360 because they looked like an Xbox game.

I mean, think about it, out of the four legitimate console generations (NES, SNES, Playstation, PS2) only the NES and SNES generations were comparable in terms of graphics. Final Fantasy X doesn't look like Final Fantasy VII but Final Fantasy I and VI are comparable. So, seeing how technology has progressed these last two generations, it's only natural for me to assume a leap(s) in graphical performance for this upcoming generation.

Anyway, that's basically what I expect to see this upcoming generation.

I sincerely hope those screen shots are from the Xbox version. On that same site, I checked out the screen shots of Ninja Gaiden: Black for the Xbox and DOA4 didn't look any better.

In one of the screenshots(one with the girl in white jumping off the ropes). It says in the background

"Congrats on the Xenon Launch!! "

So I suppose these are Xenon(Xbox360) shots, right?

Edit: Does anyone have the first screenshot saved on their PC? You see the problem with direct linking is that websites findout and remove the image.

This is what Xboxyde.com had to say about the situation,

"The Elotrolado forum found who knows where these first images from Dead or Alive 4. Since their site is almost impossible to reach I've mirrored the images here, but I could have to remove them when they will be back online. I must say that I was hoping for a bigger evolution from DOA3/U.
Edit: Some people are actually saying that these are images from DOA4, but running on Xbox (the current one) hardware. I really don't know what to say anymore.
Edit2: Confirmation, this is indeed from the Xbox360 version of the game.
Edit3: According to Tecmo these screens are not official and should not have been released. Maybe these are from an old build of the game ?"

In an interview Itagaki expressed his love for the xbox and how he felt there was a lot more power still in the current gen xbox. He also said that he continue creating games for as well even after the 360 lanch. So I'm guessing this have to be the xbox version. Or an earlier build of the game. But somebody is going to get once Itagaki finds out who leak those images. That man do not play when it comes to his games.

The screenshots look nice, there is a lot of clarity and colour, but its just missing that expected next-gen sheen.

Dude what are you talking about? The first screenshot is from the same collection as the second and looks nothing like DOAU. The pictures are a definite improvement on DOAU, but still nothing special. I bet the game looks great in motion though.

You know, I just noticed something... in the pics mak postest... Kasumi's hair in DOAU looks better than her hair in the DOA4 pisture... is this my imagination?? It looks too much like an applied texture, a bad one, than hair. Maybe this is part of the problem that occurs when you can't hide behind low resolution TVs???

Lemme tell you guys something. I found a 5min long E32005 453MB 720p resolution video preview of DOA4 at a P2P site. Guys this game is nowhere near the quality of DOAUltimate. This is uber times more smooth and graphically better! Gosh I know I saw Tekken at PS3 conference but by all means this DOA4 isn't that bad at all.

I repeat, calling this game(DOA4) current-gen is a huge mistake. You have to see it in motion(in 720p infact) to notice how far the game has gone. Everything you see in it is Polygons and when I say that the backgrounds are huge. I mean it, they are HUGE!!!! One of the smoothest 60fps games I've ever seen in my life since GranTurismo4.

I'm very impressed, If I ever said something bad about it , my bad. But take my word for it, this game will sell a lot on Xbox360. Its extremely good looking game if not as stratling as Tekken.
