Yes, thats right, it WAS a joke! I'm sure most of you knew, but for those who believed it - we got you good

We're sorry to all those who got upset or disenchanted by the joke, and you can be assured that there is NO deal with Microsoft or any other company. These forums are run by gamers just like you, and thats how it'll stay.

We were planning on having a few more twists and turns to the plot, such as:
- Sony makes a last-minute counter offer to buy the site, and is going to turn it into their official forums
- Microsft tell us to ban all the mods and put in their own staff, then have the mods come back and spam the forums
- Have a complex dialogue between Kutaragi, Miyamoto and Gates.
- Change the logo to have "Powered by Microsoft" on it, make the forum green, put the Xbox 360 section to the top of the list.

But in the end, we decided to cut the joke short. Why? Well, lots of people were taking it too seriously and threatening to quit. Indeed, some did. We'll be sending out a mass email to let everyone know, but if you speak to any of the members who've left tell them it was only a joke. The last thing we want to do is hurt the forums.

Everything will go back to normal and this community will get stronger and stronger - especially in the run up to E3. I hope looking back you all can begin to find it funny =)

Edit: And yes, Firefox being banned was part of the joke too. He's been here the whole time under a different username.
