http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3149409Thanks to Ubisoft signing a licensing deal with VIZ Media, Naruto fans will gather around their Xbox 360s for a chance to experience the world where ninjas are the ultimate source of power and respect on Microsoft's console sometime next year.
Absolutely nothing about the game itself has been revealed so far. We can only assume Ubisoft's planning an action adventure game of sorts given the series we're dealing with, but anime fighting games have certainly proved all the rage these days.
"Naruto's ninja and martial arts themes are a perfect match for video games, allowing fans to immerse themselves in the characters and become part of the action" says VIZ Media VP of consumer products Cynthia Money.
In fact, if you're not on the up and up regarding all things Naruto, you should definitely check out the in-depth cover story 1UP ran on the anime series and its videogame history not too long ago.
If Natruto is in the work, I'm sure it will be on mutli-platform.

Ubisoft Planning Naruto 360

Well there has been zero multiplatform Naruto-games. Really, 360 is getting some hardcore games, it really seems like that japanese developers really like the console. 360 seem to be even greater oppotent than anyone thought.

Every previous Naruto title has had a different dev for each platform (there's been at least 3). Ubisoft is a confirmed multi-platform developer, and significantly more talented than any who've worked on Naruto games before.

Well if it turns out to be a good game with nice fighting mechanism then its another game i will get for 360. But if its crap like the GC one where it was uber simple...then this won't be worth buying.

04-07-2006 #6Well actually Naruto isn't that big at all in Japan. Detective Conan (or Case Closed!, same manga/anime, different name) and One Piece are far more popular.

Naruto has gone downhill VERY fast. I hate to hear "DATTEBAYO!" over and over again, stupid fights where strategies has been replaced with stupid OMG SUPER SAIYAN transformations and Sasuke is goddamn annoying. If I hate to pick some "omg uberpower" anime, I would take Bleach. At least it makes it look good. Give me One Piece, Bleach, The Law of Ueki, Black Cat, Fayt/Stay Night, Flame of Recca (manga, not anime) etc. over Naruto. Only good thing in the whole series is Shikamaru. At least he doesn't have ultimate planet destruction meteor jutsus and still kicks ass.

dude your so right to be honest, i heard that naruto should have grown up by now from a japanese friend, but they are holding it off due to the popularity of the show.

04-07-2006 #10I think there has been something like...Almost a whole year of Naruto fillers. If you don't know what filler is, it means episodes which aren't made by the creator (not in original manga/anime, depends which one came first). And those fillers are REALLY BAD. I read manga and as you said, yes grown up thing happened. It was pretty cool for a start but then it got ridiculous and it's just about fighting now. While fights are nice to watch etc. this just has the DBZ feeling where Goku and Freeza fights far too long.dude your so right to be honest, i heard that naruto should have grown up by now from a japanese friend, but they are holding it off due to the popularity of the show.

yeh the fillers are hurrendous really poor animations and terrible story line, like helping some random woman fight of three baddy ninjas that dont even have the character design of a none moving guy in the background, has gone really badly downhill.
the first few series's were the best!WII FRIEND CODE = 5509 0447 7406 7959

all i have to say about naruto is monkey d ruffy is a far more entertaining person, so is his crew and the people they meet. so yeah one piece rocks big.
When it comes to porting Final Fantasy XIII to Xbox 360, Square's of the opinion that it's not the size of the disc that matters; it's how you use it.

The problem with the fillers is that the shows essentially caught up with the manga, the manga generally goes 2 issues to 1 episode, issue 301 or 302 just became available from scanlation, and episode 178 was fansubbed recently. The manga actually takes a 3 year jump following Sasuke's departure to join Orochimaru after beating Naruto in their final fight. 3 years is how long it'll take Orichimaru to be ready to steal Sasuke's body, so Naruto and company use the 3 years to train up. Most of that training hasn't been shown, so we really don't know everything they can do yet.
The manga is only 40-50 issues past the three year gap (though that's just an estimate from memory, it could be more), at least the stuff being scanlated, but the anime is still in full production. So the anime writers have been making their own stories to fill in, and they seem incapable of allowing Naruto to grow up any, use much that he's learned, in fact in the fillers he's regressing, getting worse than he'd been prior to them.
In the manga after the 3 year gap Naruto has a new costume as do most of the younger cast, Sakura has been training with the Fifth to become a medical ninja, everyone in the class except Naruto has graduated to Jonin ninjas, Naruto has been off with the pervent senin training for 3 years instead. All the ninjas have new powers and tricks, though we've yet to really see much from Naruto. Though his use of the 9 tailled fox's chakra has increased a lot, potentially beyond his control. The manga hints that Naruto and Sakura are going to see Sasuke for the first time in 3 years soon, and Sasuke has changed a lot over the 3 years. There's also been a lot more about the group Sasuke's brother belongs to and what they are really trying to accomplish.

Apparently, the filler episodes are suppose to end at 182, so everyone cross their fingers. Naruto is one of the only animes I watch, I don't go for a lot of the other stuff they show.

It's neat that Cartoon Network picked up a bunch of these anime's... They got this, Neo Genesis, One Piece, What's it's face based off Ghost in a Shell, Full Metal, one i tend to watch a lot of is Samurai Champuloo... Mugen is just hilarious...
Naruto was ok a couple shows... but then it got boring... Believe It...
I just wish they'd start picking up Initial D... that was a GREAT anime... I'm curious to see how the voice overs would be... how Bunta would sound... Especially how drifting and street racing is rampant here in the states, I think they'd get a lot to tune in... It's not one of those rediculous storylines either... It's kinda-sorta down to earth...
Here's hope to see the 86 in the states...

[LIVE]Suzuki named as a new SCEI deputy president
Kunimasa Suzuki has assumed the role of deputy president of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI), and as a result will be responsible for tackling the day-to-day operations of the Japanese hardware manufacturer's PlayStation division.
After joining Sony in 1984 as part of the firm’s overseas marketing division, Suzuki later went on to assume responsibilities as general manager of the company’s VAIO business, as well as EVP of Sony Electronics in the U.S.
As deputy president of SCEI, Suzuki will now report directly to company boss Kazuo Hirai and oversee areas of strategy and product planning in addition to his current duties.
Speaking in a press statement, Sony commented: "Suzuki combines strong leadership qualities with a profound knowledge of network business and strategy that he has accumulated over many years working in the area of consumer products, such as VAIO.”
Said Suzuki on his new role: "I'm extremely excited to join the PlayStation team," adding, "I'm determined to maximise my contribution to accelerating the expansion of the PlayStation business, one of Sony's core categories, and at the same time play an active role in linking the consumer electronics and PlayStation teams to strategically fuse both businesses and create new and truly unique Sony user experiences."
