Sony: New IP's Coming in 2009

Speaking with IGN, Sony President of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida revealed that there we will be seeing new intellectual properties for Sony in 2009.

As expected, we won't be seeing any new game franchises launched this holiday season, but Yoshida assures us that 2009 will be full of new IP's.
Even better for you Sony fans is that they "have some other titles that [they're] not allowed to talk about." We love surprises, especially when it has to deal with new games.


Yoshida also dropped hints that will be seeing something from Team Ico "soon." Our humble request to Sony: can "soon" be now?
We've already seen stuff from Heavy Rain, MAG, and God of War 3, but who knows what's coming in the future?

I agree on the SSB sony thing, And I definitely want a KH3, but i havent played ridge racer before so i dunno about that part.

Im glad they put Yoshida at the steer. The dude seems to be in control.

And its good to know he can confirm new stuff coming up. But damn I hope he has put SCEJ's studios into gear. Those guys have been the least productive.

I still bless Toyama for bringing us SIREN though.

As much as I love sequels, I believe New IP is always better and breathes more life into this industry. Are you really satisfied with the next version of.... or a new game thats "like" another popular game?

i agree, sequels, to me, can only go on so long before they start feeling the same. im all for new ip's because it something we havent "seen" before and a lot of time, for sony, they make some pretty good stuff

This is the best thing Sony has going for them if it's true. There is no way of telling if they'll be good or not, but seeing new games on that PS3 lineup will be awesome, and most importantly, it'll shut Morgan Webb the **** up.

When they were asked abiout RPGs they said wait for TGS, so it's fair to assume there will be some, Angel Rings should be one, hopefully there'll be more

Am I the only one who really wants a new Champions of Norrath? I think it would be great if it was more like The Witcher, with an open world and story, but with better combat and way more action.
