They better give the PS4 an actual web browser. Their cuddling up with Google as of late makes Chrome look quite viable. But for real there's no real honest reason (I can see) for them not giving the PS3 a real browser via update. 4.0 was, is a joke. There are some serious improvements they could have given the PS3 and they wasted a point o update on a peripheral support.

I cant wait for the ps4 launch. Just for the fact that the ps3 was amazing just imagine what the ps4 can do.

Hard to say. I think Sony has learned a lot with the PS3. When u introduce the new PS4 set the price rite. Don't wait years latter to introduce a slim make it now. Update the contoller, not change it. Free online.

I believe Sony have learned from their mistakes with the PS3 so I expect them to launch within 6 months after the 360 or preferably in the same week , Sony can't afford to wait a whole 1 year after the competition. The second point PRICE is an obvious one, while I myself as an hardcore gamer was willing to spit out 599 euros for the PS3 the average joe wasn't just because it had the PS logo on it and I hope sony have realized this.

My guess would be that Sony will try to set the price somewhere between 399-499 euros (449 would be perfect), that is if they don't come up with some new format or expensive tech like they usually do.

hmm, I'm concerned about the possibility of them dropping blu-ray from the PS4. I prefer hard copies of games and Movies and TV shows. And I have quite a few blu-ray discs there so not sure what it would mean for me and others like me. Does that mean that if they do drop blu-ray from PS4 that we'd have to keep hold of the PS3 so we can play the blu-ray discs?

I think the most important question most people are forgetting is what will Sony call it PS4 sounds like a likely chioce but it would be nice if Sony came up with something new.

That'd be very, very stupid on Sony's part to drop Blu Ray. As far as I'm concerned, a download only console is not viable these days. Hard copies of games are a must, and Sony spent a lot to make Blu Ray relevant to win that dumb format war a few years back. I wouldn't be concerned about losing Blu Ray to be honest.

I hope the price of games go down, or at least not go up. I'll buy a $600 system but no way I'm paying anything over $60 for a game.

Well looks like we can knock 2012 out of the running. Sony announced at CES that there will be no PS4 announcements at this years E3 - Not that I expected one. I've been saying 2013 at the earliest and 2014 most likely for several years now (but no later than 1yr after a new XBOX release in case XBOX dropped early - which there's no sign of.)

I think the ps3 may be my last console, 99% of the time its used for blu-ray/iplayer/netflix. I cant see myself spending big money on a new console when my ps3 does all that.

That's why next gen is so exciting. What are they gonna do now that they've done everything. If they just make a more powerful ps3, although disappointing, the games should be awesome. If they can introduce something no one has done yet (skeptical), then it gets interesting.

I think there are many improvement that can be made...ofcourse by that I mean both graphical and how the OS behaves (slow and sucky browser), better social connectivity etc.

The fact that ps4 wont be announced this year gives them more time to pick more advanced tech when it launches(2014 maybe)

I hope the next Playstation does away with the Cell BE processor. So few of games actually use to Cell BE in the PS3 and I don't think that will change as long as games are ported over.

I've always hated this mock-up. It looks like a toy! and just look at that disc slot;exactly how big did the artist want this system to be?! haha.

Anyway, the controllers look awful too.

Images like these are graphic renders. I like this one, but the controllers aren't good, and the colour combo could be better.
