yea the graphics do look good, but not a big leap over X and X-2.
however the FMV's look a lot better so i cant wait untill i get to see them in all their glory.
and yea its set in a futuristic setting with cool flying ships and stuff
i for 1 cant wait for this.
why did u do a poll on which is the best FF yet when this thread is about FFXII? i put X because i dont know why but it just hit the spot for me, even though alot of people found it as a disappointment

Hi and welcome to the Boards Chels18. This topic is already on the board;
For the Final Fantasy Poll check out:
http://www.ps3forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=54
Oh and theres also a topic on FF 12 not FF11 (which is the game you are thinking of). Don't get confused by the online FF - which is FF11. You can check that out here:

i love all the FF games!!!
i meant XII. XI looks good, but it costs too much!!! a couple of my friends own it and it's about 150 for the package, and 20 per month!
i love FF, but it's not worth it!!! maybe 5 per month, or less, or none, but never 20!!! per year that's 240 for me which is a few of my crappy paycheques!!!
getting off topic there!!!
didn't see the other FFXII topic!!!
looks like such an awesome game! and i like X, playing it now!!! i was sorta disappointed with the way the map was in the beginning not being able to go anywhere outside of a town and walking on a world map, but now even though i still can't do it and i'm 15hrs through i don't mind too much cause it's such a great game!!!"Pitiful mortal. 04-05-2004 #11Yep its really expensive! But I'd almost pay that. The prospect of online FF is amazing to me. Too bad Europe is usually last for all the hardware add ons like the HD etc.

[img]i already know bout the airship!!! someone already told me! it sucks you don't get to drive it yourself! that was one of my favorite parts!!!
love the golden chocobos, i have the ultimate breed of them! all of my stalls have a gold chocobo in it so i'm dominating the games (even teich or whatever his name is!!!)
honestly, so far, ffVII is my favorite game, and advent children also looks awesome!!!
too bad it's not a game though... sigh... but it still looks awesome!!! better graphics than the spirits within in my opinion!!!"Pitiful mortal. Your hope ends here."

04-06-2004 #14it depends on what as a person you view as good graphics, advent children is pretty but TSW is a lot lot lot more relisitc and lifelike so i prefere TSW

Hehe cool. All gold chocobos? Thats mighty impressive. I managed one (and thats all you really need to get KOTR anyway etc). It's obvious that there is an airship in FFX - there are always airships in the final fantasy series. It's hardely a spoiler to give that away. Sephiroth, Cloud and Aries are all really cool. The graphics in Advent Childeren look amazing - slightly more manga than Spirtis within but more realistic than FF7. Which is almost a perfect combination!
-
04-07-2004 #17
well what do u expect. it is a full CGI film, ok it didnt have anywhere near TSW budget which was $100 million (no joke) and thats the reason why square will never put that much moeny and time and effort into a CGI film again
-

it cost how much? omigod... at least we know that advent children should be good, and if it isn't, well that sucks... but oh well, we'll have the ff series games to make up for most of it...
yeah, i got to the airship (not being able to use it yet, but after cid drove it around to the wedding) so i was pretty happy!!! i love ffX now, i'm hooked!!! still, VII has been my favorite even after playing VIII IX and X ...
and i extremely agree with the manga/realistic/etc combination!!! it is the perfect combo... if only i had a medium fry and drink to be served with that combo... (sorry, fastfood humor here...)"Pitiful mortal. Your hope ends here."

My favorite was VII and VIII. I played IX for about 10 mins, but it was too kiddy for me so dropped it. X, same deal. I got X-2, and woah...what was square thinking? Three valley girls fighting huge monsters looking for the main chars boyfriend. Woopee, what fun
. Square really lost its touch in PS2, lets all just sit back, relaxe and hope FF7-2 makes up for all those failures.
Can anybody tell me if FFIX gets less kiddy or more interesting towards the middle? And if it has that little scifi touch like all the other FF games after V?
And whats XI's storyline, didnt getr that one either, too expensive.
Oh, and i heard (or rather saw) someone post that they hated FFXIII just because it is too long. And for me whp layed VII and VIII inside out, FFVII is really the longer one. It took me up to 87:02 hours to beat it (1st time completion without sidequests) and around 60 hours without the sidequests the second time i beat it (yestersay :P). As for FFVIII it took me only (right as this amount of time is so short
) 45:54 to beat the game without the sidequests. And only 90 hours to complete WITH all teh sidequests (i beat that one a week or so ago.)
As for X-2, i couldnt beat Salamander, you know right before the performance? Oh yeah, and did you know that Tifa was the original character that was later developed into Yuna, Rinoa, Paine, and Lulu? Although none of them had boobs as big as Tifa's :P
Well that was my 2 cents on Final Fantasy. Hope i did nt bore you too much.

I love every single FF out there. I think it is the epitome of an rpg. Great graphics, long game, and the story get's you so caught up in the game that you'll spend all day and even play through the night just to see what is going to happen down the road. It is all consuming. FFX is my fav because of the storyline and cut scenes. I also feel Final Fantasy 2 is great because it started it all and definitely had me hooked. I can only hope they continue making the series forever!!!

Least this wasn't that bad as in dated posts......Final Fantasy 1 started the game didn't it? It was named
'Final Fantasy Chronicles' Also Final Fantasy was the birth of the spinoff- Legend of Mana that has ended ;_; WHY!

I haven't played any other FFgames that aren't for ps1 and 2 except for Tactics and #3 I think it was. FFVIII got me hooked because it was the first one that I played, but VII is now my favorite but I now view VIII as sort of boring (although the whole love plot and fmg's were and still are amazing.) That was my favorite opening and ending fmg for any Final Fantasy games except for FFX-2's special ending. FFIX was really good even if it was kiddie! It was still excellent as far as gameplay, fun level, and graphics! Final Fantasy X was great for graphics but to me it's one of those games that you can't play over and over like FFVII. And FFX-2 is my second favorite FF game next to VII. It's fun besides the girl power, pop music thing (and only 2 of 3 of them are valley girls!), and I like how it steers away from traditional Final Fantasy! You don't have to repeat the same stuff over and over!
Now Final Fantasy XII looks great! Great graphics, lots of characters, etc. Hopefully this one won't be a disappointmen!"Pitiful mortal. Your hope ends here."

"Sony reps at big conference next month"
A developer for an untitled game has posted some interesting comments in his blog.
Cory Barlog was the Director of Animation for God of War, a game for the PlayStation 2 that has received extremely positive reviews.
In his latest blog entry, he specifically refers to an event taking place very soon:
"We got the word from on high that we need to present our game to Sony worldwide reps at this big conference next month..."
At E3 last year, when Sony revealed the PlayStation 3, a schedule of events was shown. One of the key dates was the PlayStation Conference, due to be held in February this year.
"I am going to be presenting the game to an auditorium of a couple hundred people, so that ought to be interesting."
Unfortunately, he has not explicitly stated that the game currently in development is in fact for the PlayStation 3. However, this "big conference" is unlikely to focus on PlayStation 2 and PSP games, especially since the Spring 2006 launch window for PS3 is fast approaching. This has given hope to many PlayStation fans that a God of War II for the PlayStation 3 may be in the making.
Many gamers were disappointed when the Consumer Electronics Show in early January passed with no new information from Sony about the PlayStation 3. This has lead to many analysts drawing up their predictions - some of which suggest the PS3 is suffering major delays.
No specific date for the PlayStation Conference has been announced. This has caused considerable confusion, since the date for DevStation, a developer conference focusing on PlayStation 3, has already been set for 1st and 2nd March.
However, the blog further confirmed that an important date is arriving in February:
"I think I will be able to talk about the game I [sic] working on pretty soon. The specific date is not locked down yet, but it could be as early as mid to late Feb."
This could be the end of the Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) imposed by Sony on game developers. Whenever this agreement does end, there will be a lot of news flooding in, and we'll be there to tell you about it.
