I dont think its true but sectioning parts of the map is a good idea like in Warhawk.

does anyone else think that there could be massive havoc with 60 man teams...because alot of games lots of people don't use teamwork and just go around killing like its a deathmatch...i wonder if these squad based objectives will keep things in order or if chaos will break loose.

I'm getting Resistance 2 mainly for 1st player so this doesn't really bother me too much. I suppose other Resistance online hardcore players will care about it though, but I'm sure more will be added after release and since the maps are huge I doubt it'll be too big of a problem.

i am also buying it for single player, however got to admit 4 maps kind of sucks. Maybe you could download more. Not sure.has anybody got details on this.

instead of calling it maps, it might be more appropriate to call them 4 "fields" with 70 maps.
That's like saying KZ2 has 1 map because it's all on that planet.
Though it may have to be played to know. How much do they variate, how different from one another, how many styles, etc.
Woodlands is woodlands, but there's houses, highways, lakes, etc. Depends how well the level designers made it.

That sounds a little disappointing but odds are that the maps themselves are pretty big anyway so I guess/hope that it will make up for it.

guys.... IT'S RESISTANCE 2! It doesn't matter if it has 110 maps, or -2 maps, you know that Insomniac packs that "gameplay" punch. Besides, they'll probably come out with an expansion or something, 3 months down the road...

Well Resistance had Manchester, Nottingham, Thames, summerset, U.S.S lexington, the subway, the hangar and grimsby. I can't think of many others? That's only four exculiding the ones that only have one variation.

You know I had a post a year ago about developers tendency now to just fix things in post. Downloadable Content and patches make it easier for developers to push games out the door without content that they could have had and then make you pay more for it.
Doesn't the DLC for Soul Calibur 4 just unlock stuff that (judging by the filesize) was already on the disc? If they can push R2 out with a just adaquate number of maps and then have people pay for the full complement, why won't they do that? This approach is a result of our buying habits as consumers.

i can't even argue with some of you anymore. this isn't EA or MicroSoft, it is INSOMNIAC. when have they ever ripped off any of us in any of their games? they always pack as much replay value into everything that they release. calm down. some of you might not LIKE the games that they release, so what, you still can't argue that they have ever skimped on content. even resistance 1 had a ton to offer and that was a launch game with the struggles of programming for the incredibly challenging PS3 and hitting specific launch dates. some of you amaze me. i wish i could type some tissues that you guys could use to wipe your tears away.

calm down every1 soo far the videos they've released have shown 6 maps online so its impossible for it to be 4 and also just w8 and see innit why are you crying right now =S...

They might start out with a few, but probably in later add-ons there will be more maps...

I don't really care if there is 4 maps. I still know it will be awesome.

4 maps is bad for the launch date, they better have dlc lined up to come out shortly or this will get old very quick

I heard like someone else mentioned there are 4 maps but each one is sectioned off into peices so that breaks out into more maps. But this is Insomniac, they seem to stand behind there games and offer updates and DLC. I am sure R2 will not be any different. Starting to love this developer!
