Well they profit off every blu-ray disc and with the help of the PS3 they'll take off the cell chip as well so it could become a cornerstone of Sony.

Who was the biggest backer behind the DVD. I was too young to even know a media change was taking place, until after it happened.

with all the spending put into the system i think once it sells itll be a big help.
mabe a company like phillips for the dvd question still im not sure.

Sony didn't back DVD they went with DIVX so they don't make a penny off DVD's but off Blu-ray cos its their technology they'll make a fortune, the PS2 sold I think over 400 million copies of software, if Sony made 5 dollars per disc they'd make some sweet revenue

Well considering the licensing fee's they charge and all the other royalties they would stand to make a lot more than that man, they could charge several royalty fee's on the disc and then cahrge other companies for using their disc technology and whatnot.
