This game is going to be a king of a remake of the original C&C with Orcas, Mamooth tank etc...and i guess they will add some new units to the original ones...

Command & Conquer 3 - First Look in the PC Gamer!

I am going to go ahead and assume that this will be the same engine Red Alert 3 is going to use. They announced a long time ago that work on RA3 was underway and it would be using a nextgen incarnation of the generals engine, and it would be very similar to the Battle for Middle Earth II engine.

http://pc.ign.com/articles/571/571432p1.html
Seeing as both the Red Alert universe and that of the original CnC are technically one in the same(because the first Red Alert always made references to CnC) maybe what they REALLY mean to say is that CnC3(since it is technically in the RA universe) is what they started working on. OR, what REALLY happened is they STARTED working on the new engine, and just decided to put it to use with BfMEII and put CnC/RA3 on the backburner. THEN, when they got done with BfMEII they decided to make CnC3 first, and RA3 afterwards."...We have a MAJOR announcement to make and we are making it exclusively to our long time C&C fans. This announcement is not going out to the press and it won't appear on the EA website or anywhere else online. We are very proud to announce that the team that brought you Command & Conquer(TM) Red Alert 2(TM), Command & Conquer(TM) Yuri's Revenge, and Command & Conquer(TM) Generals has officially started work on our next project set in the Red Alert universe!"
I think this is great news that CnC is coming back, but I REALLY.....REALLY want RA3!!!!

Is there any timeline for RA3?
And would this be considered a sequel to Command and Conquer Generals?

My dad is going to be very, very happy, heh.

As a huge fan of the C&C series, I am looking foward to RAIII and this latest addition to the Tiberium C&C series. I know for sure my dad will be glad, but my first experience with games was none other than the original C&C.
Looks like my computer may have some more life in it after all.

All I can really say for this is FINALLY! I loved every single Command & Conquer game to date, especially Red Alert 2 and the expansion Yuri's Revenge. From the history of C&C, they have never been a letdown for me, I can't wait for this.

Thanks VENGEFUL_BLUR for the avatar and spyrde for the sig!

Well hope this one goes back to the old style of C&C instead of the Generals style.

04-22-2006 #12generals wasnt TOO bad, i quite liked it, not as much as the red alerts or c&c classic but Generals could have done ALOT worse considering

Generals was bad, that is why they had to throw on the C&C in the title because nobody would even given it a second look.

Generals and Zero Hour expansion are an insult to the C&C name. Their only purpose is to spawn amazing mods, like my personal favorite Cold War Crisis.
If EA *expletive deleted* up another C&C title, ill stop buying em and play the oldies like RA1.
-
04-23-2006 #15
Haha, we can go bakc to RA1 and spend 2 dollars an hour playing!

hey hey hey hold on i said not TOO bad, i mean that at least it wasnt as disspointing as say devil may cry 2 was or something. at least generals was still fun to play in parts..
its like wipeout fusion by far the weakest game of the series but not so bad that its just aweful to play, its not as good as the others and nowhere near as fun but i can play it and have at least SOME amusement from it
i do admit that generals is by far the weakest of the c&c trilogy but if that is the weakest c&c to be ever made then its not that bad seeing as some franchise sometimes have horrible sequels, its not as bad as sequels CAN turn out to be.. (again if anyone remembers devil may cry 2 nearly killed the dmc franchise, same with resident evil and some of its "outbreak" games they where outdated and not that nice to play.. thankfully both franchises both dmc and resi evil redemmed themselves but it was a close shave for both of em to say the least)

Look at my second post in this topic. EA throw on the C&C name to save the game but all it did was bring it to the dirt.. Another thing Generals is not part of Red Alert or C&C worlds so stop trying to put it in there.

just because companys buy out other companys dosent stop game sequels from the previous company being made under the new comany look at the warhammer video games for example, they are all considered a trilogy yet each one is nearly made by a diffrent company
burnout went and burnout 3 and 4 was made and they are definitly considered part of the trilogy
i think you are missing my intentions though, i was too dissapointed with generals but all im saying is that it really could have been much much worse considering the current status it was in (ea buying the game out, was a cash in of sorts etc-etc)

Dangerous Dave: I think what The Butcher is trying to say is that Generals and Zero Hour are not linked to the Red Alert or Command and Conquer "Universe" like RA and C&C are. At the end of the Soviet campaign in RA you have Kane effectively ruling the Soviet Union after Stalin and that woman are dead. He says something to the effect that you(the player)will rule the Soviet Union until you are no longer useful in 1991. After '91 im assuming The BrotherHood of Nod is formed. Generals and Zero Hour have no such "link" to either the RA or C&C worlds.

Imho GDI vs NOD games are better than Red Alerts.
