World of Warcraft is one of the best selling PC games and has generated a lot of profit for blizzard. Many have discussed and wondered about a console version of the popular MMORPG but it seems Blizzard has nothing planned.

Blizzard's vice president of business development, Itzik Ben Bassat, told Gameindustry.biz that consoles lacked the accomplishments of a PC, especially in the online department which would have to develop further before Blizzard planned anything.

Ben told GI.biz, "We are not going to develop WoW for consoles. WoW was designed for PC and I think it will stay that way. Online console gaming is still in its very early stages, and it needs to be developed further to provide opportunities of a scale which will be interesting to us."

So there you have it, fans shouldn’t expect a console version of World of Wacraft in the near future or perhaps even never. Console fans of Blizzard shouldn’t fear as we sense a possible PS3 version of Starcraft Ghost to be announced soon but we’ll leave that in the rumor bag for now.
