looking to build myself a media pc, i have a desktop that i currently use but its getting more than old and struggles when ive got a couple of app's running. the good thing is it does have some stuff i can salvage off it:
pioneer 111d dvd writer
160 + 40gb HDD
audigy 2 soundcard
nvidia gforce 6200 graphics card (PCI)
ive been looking at bundles and cases and have found these in my price range:
proccesor/motherboard/ram

midi
http://www.cclonline.com/product-inf...=0&tid=cas-411
micro
http://www.cclonline.com/product-inf...=0&tid=cas-415
firstly are these good prices as i want it all coming from the same shop preferably. secondly will all the bits fit in the micro case as id rather a smaller case if preferable. lastly with the above salvaged bits and the new bits int he link posted is this all i need to get it up and running.
thanks

Yes the CPU/RAM/MOBO will fit in both of these cases. They are both MicroATX by the way.
Your old parts will probably fit but I am not sure since I don't know the interface of your hard drives, but if they are SATA everything will fit in nicely since this mobo has 2 SATA connectors and 1 IDE which is exactly what you need.

The new mobo will probably come with new cables. But even if for some weird reason it does not, you can use your old cables.
You definetely can use your DVDrom IDE cable to connect it and if your hard drives are indeed sata you can use the old sata cables too.
The new motherboard has onboard graphics, but I think your current GPU will probably be better than that and yes if your card is PCIexpress it fits nicely in this mobo. No need to upgrade.

By the way, I like this case most of the two since it's the only one that actually has specs stated. It has 2 big and 1 small fan inside to keep that tight space cool plus a 450W power supply. And it looks nicer.
Edit:
I don't really like that shop though. I couldn't find any info online about the motherboard to see which graphics chip is onboard. I don't like generic equipment a lot they usually bring trouble.

hi, didnt read your edit till after i bought it but i took your advise on the case. it all came today but ive been having trouble getting it up and running. ive connected everything where it should go but i have 2 problems:
theres only 1 IDE connector on the mobo but i need 1 for my HDD's and 1 for my dvd writer
the big problem is i cant get past the bios screen. the problem being when it trys to detect IDE devices it comes up with nothing. i have tried using 2 different cables and have had both HDD's connected and just 1 without anything. i also removed the jumper off the master HDD and tryed running just that. the config is int he pic below:

i have also tryed resetting the cmos memory several times and im still getting nothing. any ideas? i dont need a dvd drive connected for it to run do i?
thanks
