Reasons Heard For Not Buying

What reason(s) have you heard from XboX fanboys about why they don't want a ps3.

The people at school around here seem to not want to buy it for 1 reason and 1 reason only.
Because they dislike the controller...

I find that exceptionally rediculous. Obviously some people do not liek the controller and I can feel for them. But to not buy it just because of that?

You know a 3rd party(MadCat) is going to make controllers for the ps3 and most likely they will make one that is more "classic".

What reasons have you heard(if any) for not buying a ps3?

Sony had drop the boomerang controller. They will be showing the brand new controller at e3. SO YOUR FRIENDS HAVE NO MORE EXCUSES

That was the one reason that I heard before with the Xbox fanboys is about the controller. I have one that they think the PS3 was going to be $700 but that is not true anyway.

Some people say that the Playstation 3 is going to be too expensive and for that reason they are either not going to buy it or wait until the price goes down.

Pricing makes me laugh, X360 debuted [full, manditory (IMO), package] came to $400. Im sorry, I still need more convincing, all I see is a pretty picture, I WANT PHYSICS AND AI DAMNIT! $400 sounds pricey to me, exp. when buying something that seems like the original but with a few upgrades and a new 'dashboard'. I think it's funny when I hear ppl scolding the PS3, saying that they will copy the dashboard method, ummmm.....PSP had a 'home' button first, right? I like the PSP 'dash' better, simple-artistic. Seriously, just have fun.

I liked the ps3 boomerang, made the PS3 look smaller. But i do love the feel of the PS2 Logitech Wireless controller, that one is dreamy, hahahah.

We'll see when E3 comes.

Many people don't want to buy the PS3 because they say that they want something like Live but the only game they have ever play is Halo so tha't all they now , they are judging the PS3 before it even comes out

This is the typical ending to me talking about the PS3 around my co-worker Eric. He is a stinky fart-face. I do not like him. He also ironically HATES M$ and Windows, and LOVES Apple and Macs. When pointing out the irony of his tastes he usually spits out "Xbox is the only thing they ever got right for once...." and his face gets kinda red and he is in a bad mood the rest of the day.

Other than ERIC THE POO FACE FIVE THOUSAND....here are some typical reas....I mean EXCUSES:
-the controller is ugly "as sin"(not to be confused with Perfect Sin! )
-"cuz it's gonna be AT LEAST $600..." (this kind of thinking is a product of Gamestop salesmen brainwashing them)
-"cuz Blu-Ray is gonna lose and HD-DVD is better anyway. Xbox360 will have it." (i think the ignorance here speaks for itself)
-"cuz it won't play DVD's and you have to have an HDTV to play Blu-Ray movies." (......sorry, the stupidity has me speechless)
-"you have to have an HDTV to play it and it has to be a 1080p screen too." (.........)
-comments about various PS3 games being fake and the graphics aren't going to be as good as the trailers
-"ain't got no xbox live"
-"xbox live is better than the ps2 online and that's what ps3 is gonna have"
-"360 graphics are better"
-"360 is already out and it's gonna be a lot cheaper by the time PS3 launches"

Obviously most of the people that I have spoken with that are supposedly not going to get a PS3, are making this decision based on ignorance, or for those who don't know what that means-- the lack of information/intelligence. Hopefully many of these people will actually read some of the news headlines when E3 comes and change their minds about the PS3, when their "knowledge" on it is debunked.

Some, if not, most Xbox fans think that the PS3 will be a grill. (they may be slow) It will disappoint them once they found out it plays games. I see that as a reason why they would not want a PS3. (false accusations may mislead them)

Jokes aside:

They may not want a PS3 for the built in blu-ray, great games, and possibly a killer internet service. They would rather buy an hd-dvd add on that may cost an additional 100 bucks (talk about a rich man's console), and pay 4 bucks for a mediocre internet service. By the way, they may also want to buy a new Xbox360 with the new smaller cpu early next year. Just my opinions.

Honestly though, if I didn't like a controller, I won't buy a console either unless they really have me going with the games. So if they think the games are worth enough to not care about the controller then that's cool, if not then that's cool too. Controller is a big problem for some. One of the reasons I never bought a Xbox.

I'm only mildly curious about PS3, which is why I come to this site. Truthfully, I have had nothing but trouble with ANYTHING that Sony produces. Other people I know have had 3 XBOXes that all broke. If we have a bad experience, most of us base our future purchases on that more than any other factor.

I understand that this is a PS3 site, but some of the ignorant comments about the "other" gamers out there really make it obvious why Sony is ahead: If most of you PS3 fanboys are like this, you are obviously suffering from Stockholm Syndrome. Last that I checked, Sony was the only video game company to lose a class-action lawsuit for the poor manufacturing of the system(Disc Read Errors), yet you all run out and buy another PS2 when yours breaks without thinking that it failed because it was cheaply constructed.

Like I said, I'm not a fanboy, but a gamer who is interested in PS3 when it proves me wrong and dosen't break down like a Pinto in a car crash. As it currently stands, M$ has hit the industry standards for both the launch failure rates (3-5%)and the long term failure rates(less than 2%) of hte XB360, and most of the freezing issues were software related due to the Rush-job on most of the titles shipped.

All of my Sony products are fine and dandy (television, mp3, camera, playstation two, and playstation portable). I can’t say the same for the Microsoft and Nintendo crap I buy. The only ignorant comments I’ve seen in this thread are yours. Sony is ahead for one reason and one reason only, they make great products. In the six years I’ve had my playstation 2. I can safely say that it hasn’t broken down yet. If you’re just a “gamer” then why do you keep running your mouth? Every post so far I have seen you made is bashing the ps3 in some form or another. You don’t have to worry about the Ps3 breaking down because I doubt you were ever interested in getting it in the first place. You’re the kind of person who comes to the boards just to troll and push the Xbox 360.

to be honest most of my friends actually really want a ps3 and even my friends that are xbox fans (some of which own a 360) still say they would definately buy a ps3 if hey had the money

The reason why i didnt buy or commit to buy it (around late 2005) was the probable price, the delay and those CGI trailers which peed me off. And one other thing, the people who believed those CGI trailers to be "in-game footage" pretty much saw me pick up a 360.
