I have been cracking my knuckles, toes, elbows, knees, back, and neck for about 7 years now. I've tried to quit doing it, but I've been doing it for so long that I subconsciously crack everything without even realizing it half of the time. If I don't crack my elbows for a day then the pressure builds up and when I finally do pop my elbow it makes a very loud noise. I would imagine that it's harder to quit than smoking (I don't smoke... cigarettes anyways) because no matter how bad your smoking addiction is - it's still possible to quit if there are no cigarettes around to smoke. That's not the case with cracking your knuckles because they're always in front of you no matter what.
Who else cracks their bones (or used to)?

Used to crack my knuckles all the time but eventually managed to stop as I new that wasn't good for em. If your trying to stop then my advice is stop slowly, gradually stop cracking your knuckles and you will eventually be able to stop altogether.

I do, too much, too many places... reading this is like...
cause it's not good.
And no, not many addictions are harder than stopping smoking cigarettes, so don't ever start!

Yeah I only crack my knuckles or my back. I find that cracking my back feels really good.

Well, I think that cracking your fists, your back or your neck every once in a while is a great way to relieve stress, but I don't do it too often because I think it might be bad.

I crack my back and fingers regularly. Can't stop

I do all the time. I love cracking my back, but can only really do it when I'm in a chair with a low back rest. I actually snapped one of the chairs in one of my classes a year or so ago...I've learned that those chairs are not made to support back crackers.

I crack my knuckles from time to time, but I don't really notice I'm doing it. It's more of a subconcious thing, really.

My personal opinions are not endorsed by PSU. But they should be.

I crack my toes, ankles, knuckles, neck, back, elbows, wrists, and shoulders. However, I don't crack my neck, wrists, ankles, and elbows as much if not at all anymore.

I probably crack my knuckles AT LEAST 3 times a day.
(3 times a day) * (365 days a year) * (About 7 years) = 7,665 times I've cracked each knuckle... and my fingers still work!

I used to but somehow made myself stop doing it. It sort of hurts a little to do it now.

I do it all the time, it's always good to crack your fingers before a long Guitar Hero session.
I don't force my fingers to crack, I just wait a little bit and bam they crack so easily.

My ankles crack all by them self when I'm walking, which can be really off putting some time. I do crack my knuckles and neck occasionally but i should really try to stop that.

Cracking ones back is full of nothing but win.
Sometimes right when I wake up the popping my neck also feels really good.
Fingers I do subconsciously. And the wrists only ever so often.

Ive been cracking my joints til I was about 9 or so. First discovered to crack my fingers was like heaven! Then I learned how to crack other joints as well.
For me the most satisfying stress relief by cracking is when you crack your back. Any type of crack is good as long it does not the harmful type, it is even more relaxing when you crack a few more from your back. Also the big toe on our foot is also one of those satisfying joints to crack, along with the ankle, and the neck.

Pretty much every bone in my body cracks, I crack my fingers, toes, ankle, knees, back, neck, elbows, wrists, even my jaws starting to join in, that hurts though and mainly cracks in the morning when eating breakfast.
I've tried to stop but when you know you need to crack your knuckles or back it becomes seriously irritating.
Gamers probably do it most because I've noticed when I complete a level or something while waiting for a load I crack my knuckles in accomplishment waiting for the next bit.

thats basically a myth since the popping sound comes from what i remember hearing is liquid buildup in between your joints and their either bubble up or just pop from the squeeze and need to form up again which is why you have to wait for the liquid to back up to pop them again. its not such a bad thing but it isn't good so there should be no reason to do it.
the only thing that i know is harmful is cracking your neck. im not talking about small cracks that you get with a little twist but if you have to actively use your hands to force a neck crack then that is harmful and should be stoppedyou game? http://www.ps3forums.com/showthread.php?t=55990
Ventrilo guys. It's good stuff http://www.ps3forums.com/showthread.php?t=28989
