will COD4 continue?

hey guys, i got COD5 and its online isn't near COD4 in my opinion. so i've gone back to COD4 and my god its great. but i'm wondering if they'll take the servers off soon? i just want an online game i can love, and i've recently tried COD5 and far cry 2 but neither make me excited.

I dont think theyll take the servers down. This game has too much of a fanbase to do that.

i doubt they'll take the servers off until COD modern warfare 2 (if that's the name) comes out by infinity ward. COD 5 is great tho...i've been playing it the past few days. hit me up and well play together, im sure ull grow into it

With such a strong following, I don't think they will take them down anytime soon.

So there is no reason to worry. You probably still will be able to play when the next IW Call of Duty comes out.

For example, you can still play Halo 2 online with an original xbox. Granted different game, but it was also a game with a strong following that thousands still play.

does anybody know if cod 3 servers off because if cod 3 servers aren't off then cod 4 proably wont be off for a long time

The modern weapons of COD4 will keep me going back for a long time.
Once I've got lots of hours into World at War, I'll probably go back and forth from each game.

yeah i wouldnt worry cod4 MP was way better so they would be dumb to take off cod4

COD4 servers will be around for a long time. There would be so many pissed off people if they closed them this early, or even within a few months.

A few of my friends still haven't picked up the new one cause they're just gonna wait until the next one comes out to buy a COD.

I sure hope so, I'd prefer CoD4 to last longer than CoDWaW only because I'd hate to it become more successful off of Infinity Wards labor.

I still play the game from time to time its a lot of fun I would assume they would stay up till cod6 comes out.

CoD3 servers are still up so don't worry! CoD4 has such a big community it will still be going strong at least until next November when CoD:MW2 comes out.

Very much doubtful.

While I do like WAW online I'm still partial to COD4, they both offer different experiences. WAW has bigger maps,more perks and generally harder due to the old skool guns. I'll be playing both so one is a happy customer.

your panicking over nothing, companies will not take games off servers simply because an updated version is released, there are many games out there still using old servers such as fifa 08, nba2k8, Cod3, motorstorm 1, vegas 1 and many more.
Also there are literally thousands of people still playing Cod4 online, they would literally have to stop selling the game or mark it as discontinued first or risk getting sewed for faulse advertisement

I noticed that no so many people are playing CoD4 anymore. It takes him a while to find a match and it takes a while for people to come in my lobby when i'm the host.

I'm getting WaW soon......i guess i'll leave too then.

I've been playing other games the last few weeks so going back to try CoD4 again last night.. found just the situation you're talking about..

I dunno if that was just last night or how it's going to be from now on.. but I like the modern setting of the game.. I dunno if I'd enjoy WaW as much : /

WAW is great...its hard to compare because they're very different, the way i see it is: if i want to play modern warfare, ill play cod4...if i want some old school action then ill play cod:WAW...its great!

CoD6 or IW next CoD wont be out next year. They are making a different kind of game.

It will surely me here for a long time so no worries. I never bought COD:WaW and I don't think I will. MW was a must-buy for me because it seemed such a leap from CoD3. The new game is 'too close' to MW for me and also the era doesn't really appeal to me anymore.

It is funny to see though, that many of my friends as well has gone over to CoD:WaW just as the CoD4 lost a huge amount of players when GTA4 was released. I suddenly found the game much more difficult (online) as the casual players had left the game and left were the really good ones.
