For the most part it plays like your normal RPG. Except half the game is kind of like a social simulator of the sorts, you hang out with friends or go to club meetings and you gain points which will make certain personas stronger (I think). Then the other half of the game, at night, you can go into randomly generated dungeons where you have to clear all the floors till you reach the top.

That's how things in 3 worked, I'm sure things for the most part haven't changed much. But if you want a new RPG, me thinks it's only $40 so it's worth it.

So are you saying it's out today? I preordered it recently. Does it come with any extras?

Awesome, thanks. I'll be picking up my copy later today then. Hopefully it'll come with the art book and soundtrack.

The combat uses the Press Turn System which forces you to exploit weaknesses of enemies while protecting your own. Every time you exploit a weakness, you get an extra half-turn. The same goes for the enemies. You can also pass your turn which only costs half a turn, which helps when you need to give your turn to a character who can exploit a weakness. It's a great system that makes you pay attention to combat instead of just mindlessly attacking like in other RPG's.
