I had recently bought this and my review of it is it is one of the best games ever.
Puts Grand Theft Auto 4 to shame with driving and mission structure.
Gameplay is so enjoyable, love the first missions involving breaking Johnny out of the courtroom.
Overall the shooting, fighting system is top notch, involves a bit of skill to get used to but its worth the time.
Anyone after a GTA style game, get Saints Row 2
Never played the first one but 2 is damn awesome![]()

Everyone seems to love SR2 but I'm the exact opposite.
I though it absolutely reeked of cheap.
-The game looks foul.
-The city is dead, small and lifeless.
-The radio stations consist of a lot of 80's music
-The whole gangster thing seems to be derived from GTA San Andreas - a 5 year old game.
-There is no story. Just a vague outline of how you need to take over the city.
-You need to keep gaining respect just to do missions, and one of the easiest ways to do that is drive on the wrong side of the road a lot which makes me feel sick.
Killing grannies and squirting poo at people is NOT fun.
Give me a story goddamit.

The whole game is about street gangs in bright colours taking control of turfs.
Sounds a lot like GTA:SA.
But a lot of people seem to like the game so I'm clearly in the minority.

I've got lots of love for Saints Row 2
Really stands out as one of the 'fun' memorable titles of 2008
Co-op with mates is awesome too, running around causing chaos.
SR@ doesn't take itself too seriously. I think that's what I liked the most about it.

I have it on PS3, it's a pretty good game, but I do like GTA 4 more. I also never played SR1

I liked SR2 a lot, thought it was one of the better games of the year personally. I don't think I'd have been as impressed had I played single player, but I played around 50 hours of co-op and It's hugely more fun to tool around with a friend in SR2 than in GTAIV, I've spent hours just throwing pedestrians off stuff, and/or driving big vehicles trying to hit falling pedestrians on the way down

Hahaha this games hilarious, a cop tasered me and had me busted but some civilians started bashing the cops, was funniest thing I ever seen on a game.
Helped me get away as well from 2 star level.
Looks even funnier seeing cops tasering criminals on the street and beating them up lol.
This is a funny game.

I love this game, great storyline along with extra things to do. I have it for PS3 as well as the 360. Reminds me a lot of GTA:SA that's why I like it so much. GTA 4 was boring and felt very slow, this game isn't.

I didnt like it as much as GTA IV. It doesnt feel as realistic, and the driving SUCKS SO BAD COMPARED TO GTA IV. Car damage is terrible aswell. I could be driving along really fast and hit a wall and there wouldnt be as much as a scrape on my car, how **** is that come on. I love how realistic the car damage is on GTA. All about realism for me im afraid.

Ive never played SR2. But my major problem with GTA IV, is that it feels like a major downgrade when it comes to things to do.
They took out all of the cool vehicles, and weapons. My favorite thing to do on San Andres was too fly close to outerspace then skydive all the way down. Or base jumping off of the Los santos police building.
Sheesh take away all the planes and jetpacks. Like playing GTA III all over again. Then they slap us with old motorcycles that shift every 10 mph.
Sorry didnt mean to rant, just upset.

Thats cool , good to have a rant when you got stuff to say.
GTA 4 while I like it has good sidegames but generally speaking it has lack of content aside from those games.
I recommend Saints Row 2 mate, has loads to do, is quite funny and it has well structured missions and storyline.

The major knock on GTA IV was how scaled down it was. Also, it's hard for anything to live up to the hype. However, the graphics, gameplay (driving, shooting), detail, scale, physics etc... are way ahead of SR2.
I am playing SR2 now and it is loads of fun. There is so much to do. However, it is very buggy and the driving and shooting can get frustrating.
