Who's seen either of the films? I remember seeing them ages ago and enjoyng them (the second one more... Bloodlust I'm pretty sure it was). Thinking about picking them up on DVD and watching them again.

And am I correct that there's a manga out? Might check that out if anyone recommends it.

i have bloodlust ,I didnt know it was done by MadHouse till 2005 it was pretty cool
never read the manga i might also pick it up if someone recommends it

There is a manga out!
Also there are like, 8 or 9 books out by dark horse.

My nephew was pretty happy with the manga so it must be pretty good. I think the first book fallows the first movie.

The first was good but Bloodlust was the sequel. Not sure if they really should do another since its set in present time.

One of the first anime I ever saw, after Akira and Ninja Scroll. Great movie for it's time and still holds up well.

Uncool...a Birthday Massacre fan, very awesome.

Thats funny because from my information its set in approximately 12,090 AD.

If you know the ending of Bloodlust, its not all transalvanian in the end as one of the main characters funeral everyone is wearing modern clothing and not a peasant outfits. That still not identifying how far off D is into the future during Bloodlust's actual time line.

I love both films. The first is pretty old, but Bloodlust rocked! I heard they are actually scripting a live action version of Vampire Hunter D. I'm not sure if they are going to start with the first manga or continue to story from Bloodlust.
