I'm just a fan of Dragonball and haven't seen any reason to not have faith in it. I'm lookin more to the future movies though, really i think they should have started with the Red Ribbon Saga and then had the Piccolo saga which will later explain the android/cell saga better
The End just lives to bag out the movie any chance he gets so i just like to hand it back to him once in a whileOriginally Posted by Baki

I wasn't looking for a faithful adaptation because some things don't translate well from animation to the silver screen (especially certain "anime style" jokes).
I was looking for a good adaptation.
However recent images/clips have hurt that faith.
Maybe another director would've been more suitable.

Yeah honestly i had to watch them a few times before i got into em, took a while but i liked them in the end. Fighting was brilliant but the characters seemed different to well anythin, like Goku's overreaction to being thrown but then picturing it as the anime and it fits, the whole scene could pass off as Dragonball if it were animated.

Looks like you were wrong as usual, so very very wrong

http://www.dragonballmovieblog.net/2...an-box-office/“Dragonball: Evolution,” the Hollywood adaptation of the internationally loved comic, topped the South Korean box office during its opening weekend after its world premiere here March 12, according to 20th Century Fox Korea.
But speaking of fail, here is Watchmen
http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/135...atchmen-dives/The Rock-led 'reboot' of the classic 70's franchise soundly beat last week's top earner "Watchmen" which plunged a whopping 67% in its second weekend. The film, which proved very divisive with critics, has gone over well with the geek crowd but didn't click with general audiences and thus its longevity looks very iffy.

Dude, maybe get some numbers next time:
China - $3.3M 2 Days
Hong Kong - $489K 4 Days FAIL!
Japan - $3.3M 3 Days
Malaysia - $731K 4 Days FAIL!
Singapore - $389K 4 Days FAIL!
South Korea - $1.1M 4 Days FAIL!
Taiwan - $132K 3 Days FAIL!
Thailand - $523K 4 Days FAIL!
Total OS Gross So Far - $10,105,000 FAIL!
So no, I wasn't wrong at all, it's failed so far in Asia and I expect this pile of crap to fail over here as well. Also, it opened up at #2 in Japan.... FAIL!Top of '12 1. The Dark Knight Rises (10) 2. The Avengers (9.5) 3. Prometheus (8.5)

Your post still fails.
Coming first in 5 out of 8 locations is a very long way from failing.Fox’s “Dragonball Evolution” premiered in eight Asian markets before its April 8 domestic opening. Director James Wong’s live-action adaptation of the famous Japanese cartoon series created by Akira Toriyama co-stars Justin Chatwin and Chow Yun-fat and drew $10.1 million from 2,110 screens.
Following heavy prerelease promotion in the region, it premiered at No. 1 in China, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong and Singapore. The China opening tally, $3.4 million from 855 locales, was Fox’s fourth-highest weekend opening in the market. “Dragonball’s” No. 2 Japan bow produced $3.3 million from 540 screens.
Were you expecting the world to explode upon its release?

God, seriously you know nothing about the Box Office. Coming first in 5/8 territories is only good if it makes good money which it hasn't! Making the money it did in those territories is failure, coming second in Japan is the biggest failure ever! This movie won't make any money back what so ever, Fox may even lose some. Besides, your getting that from a Dragonball blog which isn't showing most of the numbers. Most people over at Box Office Mojo know that what it's done overseas is failure so far.

Yup, and many other's do. Seriously, from the six clips I've seen this movie has to be one of the worst adaptations EVER! Not to mention some really, really horrendous acting. I still can't believe they spent $100M on the film, looks like only $50M was used.
It doing well? It's not doing well what so ever, in Box Office terms. Maybe for fans getting 5/8 opens in 1st spot is good but the money it's made is absolutely terrible. It may be doing good to you but to people like me who look at the Box Office it's not.Top of '12 1. The Dark Knight Rises (10) 2. The Avengers (9.5) 3. Prometheus (8.5)

I didn't really watch dragonball growing up, but from what I have seen and the movie clips I have seen, this movie doesn't look like it.
