tomorrow doesn't bode well for anyone who isn't vettel.
mclaren surprised me being so close to the front, but that was probably more due to the fact that ferrari weren't, than being down to any improvements made since the test sessions.
assuming he gets into the first corner first, and as long as the red bull has solid reliability, the race will be for second.
even after only 3 practice sessions and a qualifying session, vettel has already set his stall out in a bid to claim the #1 spot at red bull, just as massa has done the same for the #2 berth at ferrari.Don't waste your words I don't need anything from you.
I don't care where you've been or what you plan to do.

MGP were disappointing...
Red Bull using “start only” KERS?
Anyone else think HRT will drop out this season before they even get to start a race?

Hamilton has good race pace.
The DRS doesn't seem to actually help overtaking at all either.PSN: ANDY_098 XBL: ANDY098

the DRS has so far proven to be a total failure and complete waste of time, effort, development & money. from what I've seen, it's only resulted in one overtake so far, one that could have possibly happened without it anyway.
I wonder what bells and whistles they will try to come up with for next season.Don't waste your words I don't need anything from you.

Everyone has it, but only the following car can use it. The problem is the turbulence from the leading car, it means that the following car has to wait longer to get traction on the exit of the final corner. So by the time the following car can use the DRS the leading car has already increased its gap because it has a lot more aerodynamic grip than the car behind.
The dirty air down the straight means the DRS is less effective as well. Everyone has been saying that it increases top speed by around 12km/h, which is only a 4% increase anyway over 300km/h (the difference between doing 70mph and 72.8mph on a motorway) so the car with the DRS activated will eventually get past, but by no means quickly. Assuming the following car is right on the gearbox of the leading car (the following car has to cover approx 10m to go round and infront of the leading car), it will take around 3 seconds for the car to pass which will cover around 300m, but that 12km/h increase is in clear air. Whenever a car is within a second of another, the slipstream from the leading car gets rid of a lot of the drag anwyay, so the DRS doesn't have much more to do so the difference between slipstreaming with and without the DRS activated will be fairly minor.
The F-Duct worked better because it could be used anywhere on the circuit so it can increase the top speed/acceleration anywhere the driver did not need maximum downforce, thus creating overtaking opportunities on any straight section of the track, rather than limiting it to one DRS zone as it is now.PSN: ANDY_098 XBL: ANDY098

No reason to now the tyres degrade. Strategy won't change at all, it will just make each pit stop longer.

SourceSauber’s Sergio Perez and Kamui Kobayashi have lost their seventh and eighth places in Sunday’s Australian Grand Prix after both were disqualified for technical infringements on their cars.
Following post-race checks, the Melbourne stewards decided that both Sauber C30s were in breach of technical regulations 3.10.1* and 3.10.2**, in relation to their rear wings.
It means Ferrari’s Felipe Massa moves up to seventh, Force India’s Adrian Sutil to eighth, Toro Rosso’s Sebastien Buemi to ninth and Force India’s Paul di Resta to tenth, the Scot thus scoring on his F1 debut.
*Article 3.10.1
"Any bodywork more than 150mm behind the rear wheel centre line which is between 150mm and 730mm above the reference plane, and between 75mm and 355mm from the car centre line, must lie in an area when viewed from the side of the car that is situated between 150mm and 350mm behind the rear wheel centre line and between 300mm and 400mm above the reference plane. When viewed from the side of the car no longitudinal cross section may have more than one section in this area.
"Furthermore, no part of this section in contact with the external air stream may have a local concave radius of curvature smaller than 100mm.
"Once this section is defined, 'gurney' type trim tabs may be fitted to the trailing edge. When measured in any longitudinal cross section no dimension of any such trim tab may exceed 20mm."
** Article 3.10.2
"Other than the bodywork defined in Article 3.10.9, any bodywork behind a point lying 50mm forward of the rear wheel centre line which is more than 730mm above the reference plane, and less than 355mm from the car centre line, must lie in an area when viewed from the side of the car that is situated between the rear wheel centre line and a point 350mm behind it."
Surely this could've been picked up before this weekend!?

Just got a message from the F1 app about this.
It's ****ing ridiculous that this wasn't discovered earlier, someones getting fired
Gutted for Sauber. It would be great to know if this actually makes any difference to the performance of the car, just to confirm whether there positions in today's race were down to the illegal wing, or if the car is this good without it.A man can dream though. A man can dream...
