I agree, I don't mind Button but I don't think he is all that great. Not a member of the big 4 that is for sure. I guess he can help develop a car more than Perez can though.

Perez has been unlucky though, McLaren have hardly given him a race winning car.

I'm very jealous! If you don't mind me asking. How much did it cost to walk down the pit lane?

Aw i dunno, it was part of a package. You only get to go on the actual pit lane bit, we only got into the paddock cause we knew somebody at Marussia.

The package was near enough 2000

Well Kimi is out for the rest of the season due to having Back Surgery. A few races back he was complaining about having back issues and it seems to have flared up again, I guess this time it's become too much of an issue to drive the car.

Maybe Valsecchi to see of the final two races?

was reading that about kimi. in some ways im glad as it adds some variety to the end of an already decided season, and he's already gotten a seat at a top team so not exactly going to miss him...he'll prolly be plastered in enough places next year to compensate

But since i've missed the little discussion on Button. keep in mind he finished second in the WDC and was only denied due in large part to Schumacher's dominating reign. He could have been sitting there with Alonso at 2 WDC if he were more fortunate.

Well you would hope they would use their reserve driver otherwise there is not much point having one lol

Looks like Perez is set to finally loose his seat now, McLaren look to be faroving Magnussen over him now due to his poor pace in Abu Dhabi

It's not just Abu Dhabi, Perez in general just hasn't been close to Button's pace throughout the entire season. The last two races Button obviously finished far behind but that's because of the first lap incidents, the races where he was also a place or two behind was because of punctures, but Perez in general has only really performed well once and that was in India, Bahrain I guess he did too but he was driving too recklessly in that race.

It's a shame because in all honesty I wanted Perez to make an impact at McLaren. Yes I know McLaren have not exactly given him the right car but if Jenson can score points with the same problems then Perez should have really stuck with him or even outraced him. Lets just hope that Magnussen proves to be the better choice!!

tbh, i feel McLaren made a poor choice in Perez. It's a shame as he is potentially in a position of being out of a seat for any team. if you ain't got what it takes to race at Mclaren who else will take you?

It is sad as he probably had potential of maturing into a decent driver. maybe not a champion, but something similar to Trulli, or Webber. A competent driver for any top team to have for the constructors. If he does get replaced he'll have his work cut out to prove himself to any of the other top teams.

I think he would most likely have to go backwards again to go forwards, who knows he may even not get a drive at all, a lot of good drivers coming through from the lower categories may get in before him!

He's lost his opportunity I reckon, there are better drivers down the grid than he is and yes McLaren really shouldn't have picked Perez so quickly last season, personally I would've gone with Senna... but that's just me.

I am a fan of Senna, really thought he deserves another shot in F1 but I don't see it happening, which is a real shame!

I can see McLaren opting for Magnussen to be honest, Martin Whitmarsh is desperate to get him into a race seat and if another team fails to sign him (which is looking very likely) then the seat is his!

Magnussen has been brought up by McLaren similarly to how Lewis has been brought up and apparently Magnussen is extremely quick. I don't know what his race craft is like so I can't comment on that but it will be good to have a new driver on the grid near the top at the start - that's assuming McLaren have sorted their $#@! out for next season.

Great news for Massa, deserves another drive next season and I think he will do a good job at Williams. As for Maldonado will F1 miss him, don't think it will, great win at Catalunya but other than that for me he has been too inconsistent!

I'm not, as long as he kept lining their pockets he kept lining the seat!

Massa brings experience but he still brings a bit of money with his as well!

I agree but I think you need to give rookies at least 2 years before considering a new driver, they still have a lot to learn and a year in will help you do that. Unless they are really bad then I think they deserve 2 years and if you still show no real signs of talent or maturity then off you go to give someone else a chance, that just my personal view!
