Should be interesting on sunday, the field is going to be rally mixed up, I'm surprised how well Brawn Gp have done although I'm a bit concerned for Mclaren.
Not too sure about all these new rules, glad the medal one got scrapped have to see how they affect everything after the first race. The fact that there hasn't been much overtaking in recent years is because there hasn't been many good enough drivers. There was a bit more last season, Hamilton, Kubica and a few others proved it can be done. But instead of realising this they've just made it easier, the KERS system is ridiculous.

I can see Lewis getting close again but think Alonso will win

Massa I think. He's a great driver.

Vints, i luv ya like cooked food, but Massa is an average driver who drives the best car. Simple.
And yes Kubica is young, but people forget Lewis is only 22 also!! And this is now Lewis's 3rd year as supposed to Roberts 2nd!
The 2 drivers who are above everyone else are Lewis and sadly Nando!
Thanks to Final for the sick sig!

Massa is okay at best.
I hate to say it but Alonso is best/joint best driver on the grid, for what he drove last year he put that Renault where it shouldn't have been really, winning races.
My money is on Hamilton, 1 point from the title in his rookie season, won it in his second. Finally England has a winner
.
Also Hamilton is by far the best as overtaking, once he gets the bit between his teeth and can smell blood he can have even the best defensive drivers. Also his success in the rain will bag him alot of point this season too.
I haven't forgotten Kimi, but he doesn't seem to have the passion, if I was on the Ferrari wall last season I'd have been steaming, trailing in 6th-7th and the popping in a fastest lap with 3 laps to go.

I was at Canada in 2007 and saw Hamilton's first win. I've pretty much been a Hamilton fan boy ever since...but I'm really coming around on Massa.
I felt so bad for the guy when he realized he didn't win the WDC in Brazil last year. I mean, I hated it for him. You could see the passion, the desire, the fire that pushed him. He did exactly what he was supposed to do - he won Brazil. He had to in order to put himself in the position to win the WDC. But Hamilton won it by the skin of his teeth.
I'll still pull for Hamilton this year, but I'll also have a little spot in my heart for Massa too.

I think anyone that would be willing to put their eggs in one basket and name anyone for the title with so much confidence for 2009 after all the reg changes, is either very brave or very stupid.
I wouldn't be overly surprised if we get a few wins from drivers for teams other than the big 3 in the early part of the season.
having said that, I give it 5 or 6 races before the cream rises to the top, it just always does.
I think come the end of the season, normality will mostly be restored and it will be a battle between a ferrari and a mclaren driver. I don't think for a single minute that mclaren have been as slow as their testing pace seems to suggest.
I'm looking forward to seeing how the hond... I mean the brawnGP package performs, I dearly want button to do well because I still in my heart believe he is world championship material in the right car. I'm thinking they have been "anti-sandbagging" though, and have been trying to get some much needed publicity by running their cars on fumes.
in the cold hard light of day, under full racing conditions, I'm not that hopeful for them, but I have my fingers crossed that I am wrong.Don't waste your words I don't need anything from you.
I don't care where you've been or what you plan to do.

I think at the end of the season, it will come down to Ferrari vs. McLaren.
Ferrari will win the constructors (Kimi and Massa are better then Hamilton and Kovalinen), but I think the championship is too close to call, espicially before the season has even started.
I can't wait for the Aussie GP to start this weekend. It's gonna be so awesome to watch with the new aerodynamics and rule changes.
Forza Ferrari!

Just drives me mad with the FIA shafting itself over and over again, i mean this prospective protest could ruin everything. What if BrawnGP win and then after the race they pull out all the cars with the illegal difuser ... bad times.
Massa is a strang one, he seems to lack the brain power to truely understand everything going on in F1, he displays several signs he is lacking concentration yet has the raw ability to win races through pace.
I feel the new changes though, especially the ones coming in next year, will not help the likes of Massa.

If the rule that the champion is decided by the most wins was in place last year, Massa would've become champion. He had 6 wins compared to Hamilton's 5.
If Massa can get a decent car and put in a consistant performance all-year round, he has a very real chance of taking it out this year.

Kovalainen was horrible last year..
Even if it might not be that good for the industry, and advancing the tech (due to slowly all using the same/similiar equipment), I hope this season there are at least 3 teams that can actually compete for the crown this year, and in the future, because as a spectator, it starts to get boring.
On a random note, I want my Canadian Grand Prix back, I will miss the pit passes I got through my work (we took our clients there).... bah

collectively maybe, as individuals, definitely not.
actually, I'd argue that it was borderline between the 2 fins last year for who is worse of the 4.
difference is that heikki wasn't really overly expected to deliver, kimi was and failed, and for that, I'd have to plum for kimi, he let ferrari down just as much as kovy let mclaren down, if not more.
in his 2 years at ferrari, despite the fact that he won a world championship (well, more mclaren/hamilton lost it and gifted it to him rather than him winning it), he's hardly done himself proud.
in all honesty, I can't say that he's impressed me since he was at mclaren.
when he left for ferrari, I can't help but feel that part of his killer instinct was left behind.
another season to forget from him will be the nail in the coffin of his F1 career.Don't waste your words I don't need anything from you.

I forgot they'd dropped the Canadian GP
, I loved that track to bits, my favourite track to play on the game I knew that circuit inside out and loved cutting that last chicane if I needed to gain ground quickly
.
On raw talent and skill is what I was basing that post on, Hamilton has it in abundance and its shown, Kimi has it, he's just been very unfocused the past couple of seasons, Massa is consistant but without Ferrari he's nothing, Kimi and Hamilton could challenge in a Renault or BMW but Massa certainly couldn't.
Heikki though just looks out of sorts, way too many misstakes and errors, coupled with his bad luck with mechanical failures he doesn't seem a great partner for Hamilton. I do hope he makes me eat my words this coming sunday, and proves he's worthy of filling a Mclaren seat, but from last season it doesn't seem so.
As for Kimi, I have to agree, if he doesn't get his act together he could be a memory by 2010.
