Now the PS2 costs $99. What do you think this means? It means Sony wants to end the PS2 and focus on the PS3, like many people said? Or it means that Sony wants some of the Wii's market?

It means that I can buy another one but for 20 dollars cheaper... I miss playing Battlefield 2 online. :[
Also, OP, why do you think Sony is trying to end the PS2's life? Making a price cut on it will make the PS2 rise in sales, not drop in sales.R.I.P Aziz "Zyzz" Sergeyevich Shavershian. Forever 'mirin, brah. (1989 - 2011)

The fact that Sony is still manufacturing the things speaks volumes for product support. The system is nine years old. I realize it doesn't have the support it had in it's prime, but it's still moving hella numbers...
PS2 = WIN.

I think Sony just wants to make a little more money on an outdated system. Theres know question 99% of there focus is on PS3. But this price cut is great. I havent owned a PS2 since 07' and I think I may pick one up now. You can find games cheap also. May grab it for a collectors sake.

The price drop is just a last hurrah. It's a good way to get rid of any existing stock before retiring the console.
