Did Wal Mart Dump the 360 ....?

Remember that old article claiming the 360 would not be sold by Wal-Mart anymore? Well, I certaintly didn't believe it because at the time of the article I saw 360's and all its games all over the shelves.

Well, I recently got back from Wal-Mart and of course went over to the electronics section. To my absolute suprise the entire 360 section was wiped clean. No games, no kiosk, no system.

Anybody elses Wal-Mart doing this? I can't remember the article but what was the reasoning for this?

Please do not use misleading titles in your post, especially if it is not confirmed. ~Cera

My walmart had the accessories at least, I didn't look for the console itself though.

Wasn’t the original Wal-Mart dumping the Xbox 360 story created because the WIFI in 360 Kiosks interfered with the inventory system of some of the older Wal-Mart stores? Didn’t the story develop because Wal-Mart had to remove the kiosks from some stores and this caused people believed they weren’t going to sell the 360?
Or was there a later story that I missed. I don’t live in the USA so I’m not really up with what is happening with Wal-Mart.

Clearing floor space for the PS3 and Wii (jokes)

I guess it could be cause of the Wifi interference or some other unknown factor . Sure is weird though .

If the wireless was the case they'd dump the Kiosks but not the shelving of the consoles.

Aren't Wal-Mart like big in the USA or something?

    Steroyd,
I said believed the ORIGINAL ‘Wal-Mart Dumping the 360’ story was started because of problems with WIFI. I believe the original poster (udontneed2know) mentioned there was an old article that claimed Wal-Mart wouldn’t sell the 360, and that’s why I mentioned the WIFI problem. I don’t know if Wal-Mart is dumping the 360 because even though Wal-Mart is big in the USA, I do not live in the USA so I have no real interest in Wal-Mart.

Yeah but WiFi shouldn't be the sole reason to not sell Xbox 360's they're inactive, without a source of power.

It's just ilogical it should just be the kiosks that are causing the problems in the first place.

OK I’ll try to explain the original problem occurred just before the 360 launch. Wal-Mart didn’t have any real 360, just Kiosks, so when people saw the kiosks being removed they speculated that the 360 would not be sold by Wal-Mart. And I believe that is where most of the original rumours about Wal-Mart dumping the 360 started.

udontneedtoknow. just so you know in uk at my store sometimes when we are moving round sections we will pull EVERYTHING off so it could look like it was gone.

i suggest you go and ASK the manager if they have stopped, instead of posting what you believe you saw. its possible flame bait if not proven

i suggest we just put it in google, it would be all over the news if they had stopped seling it.

^^^^ Which is why i find it so hard to believe that a big chain store like Wal-Mart would pull a just recently launch next gen console off the shelves altogether .

Yeah, the subject title has to change, it's just misleading to people as if the Wal-Mart chain actually dropped the Xbox 360 instead of 1 person going to 1 Wal-Mart out of the tens of thousands and not see it on display, and then thinks because of that every Wal-Mart in the entire world dropped the Xbox 360 (yeah, I'm making it sound stupid because the post is stupid). It's like, I could post a thread that say "McDonalds DID drop the burger" just cause I went in and ordered the Filet O'Fish. This thread should go into the Hall of Shame.

this thread should just be locked its completely pointless. a company is not going to ditch the hottest selling console of 2006. unless they are nuts

Really. They are probably just rearranging the setup. Happens to all of the systems. They usually do it in the late-night hours.

Well, considering there's no official confirmation, this thread is pointless.

And if you keep up with your anti-360 antics (having misleading titles is just lame), you're on your way to a temp ban.
