UPDATE:
SourceAccording to a moderator at 2k's official web forum, two different German magazines with Bioshock 2 cover stories were recently released and some new information is starting to trickle out. The two magazines were said to offer very similar information but a lot of it is different than what the recent Game Informer cover story offered. One of the magazines has put a new image of the Big Sister up on it's website, which you can see above.
- Bioshock 2 will have much more (facial) animations for it's characters, especially the Little Sisters.
- Tannenbaum is indeed back and during a gameplay presentation, Tennenbaum wakes up the player.
- According to Melissa Miller, returning to Rapture wont be boring because of three reasons: 1. You can go outside of Rapture, 2. You will mainly visit places, you only heard of in Bioshock 1 and 3. a secret aspect, she wont mention.
- Compared with the Big Daddy in Bioshock 1, you will be faster and your field of view will be better.
- Vita Chambers are back, but when you respawn there, the health of the enemies (e.g. Big Daddies) might be regenerated for a certain amount.
- There are more greytones added to your moral choices. So there is not just black and white. Moral choices are also integrated into the game mechanics and not just to the endings.
- Splicers will now search for cover, jump off balconies and use their enviroment. They can also catch grenades and throw them back.
- The Big Sister will change during the story.
- Guessing from artworks and screenshots, Splicers look more ill. One had more claw like fingers, eczemas...etc.
- Concept art showed Rapture Metro Station North, one small screenshot showed a hall in Fontaine Futuristics.
- In an interview with Jordan Thomes, he said: "Ryan and Fontaine were a part of the big ideological war, which made Rapture fall. While the story of this characters is somehow over, they are still important to show people whats up with Rapture...."
- Jordan also said that the player "creates" alot of corpses. The Little Sisters may show which are worthwhile to be harvested.
SourceThe latest issue of the Official UK Xbox 360 Magazine contains an exclusive first-look at Bioshock 2 and so do brand spanking new details for fans to drool over.
Warning: If you don't want to spoil the experience, it may be best if you stop reading. There are some storyline elements below.
The lucky boys over at OXM UK got their hands on a demo, in which they describe the opening moments of Bioshock 2, when players “gradually awake to the radio nagging of one of Rapture’s few survivors - Dr. Tenenbaum. Older more tired and still just as guilt-stricken, she’s your advisor as you take your first tottering steps. You can help support the site by purchasing Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams from Play.com. Click here and we will take you directly to the game's page at Play.com where you can buy or pre-order this game today!
Another notable feature includes changes to the plasmid system in which “every upgrade you make gives a new Plasmid ability; so updating incinerate takes you from firing fireballs to having a built-in flamethrower.”
There’s also many new screenshots, though one very interesting image is of a Little Sister with the options to: “Harvest” and a change to the system in which you can “Adopt” them as you take control of a Big Daddy.
The magazine also features an interview with Jordan Thomas, the Creative Director at 2k Marin. If you’re interested in Bioshock 2 and want to find out even more, Issue 46, containing these new details, will be available in stores from Thursday (9th April).
Sounds awesome. Does anyone ever get OXM early?

SOmewhat old news from the Game Informer article and what else has been said about the game on other sites etc. but still I love to see new things about this.
I really hope they can send out a demo sooner so we can get a big taste for the game before it actually comes out rather than waiting a month or so before release.

I've never even heard of OXM, but yeah, information on Bioshock 2 sounds pretty amazing.
It'd be nice for us to get our hands on a demo of this game as well before it releases.

For those interested, the word is you can use things like Cyclone Trap & your fire plasmid to make a fire tornado. This has yet to be confirmed but apparently multiple plasmids will work similar to what we are hearing about in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 with how you can "fuse" powers together.

Sounds like a big step up from the first one, which is saying something because that's a special game.

So, I take it this is a sequel rather than a prequel? Either way it will own.
