Book Nerds: What are you currently reading?

Anyone else here read a lot of books? Thought it would be nice to discuss the books we are reading. Maybe get some good recommendations as well. I'm mostly a fantasy nerd

Just finished Robert Jordan's(RIP) Wheel of Time series and Geroge Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire. Both excellent reads IMO.

Few days ago I started the Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind and finished Wizards First Rule. Probably the best start to a Fantasy series I have ever read. I literally could not put it down, went through 800+ pages in 2 days.


After I finish this I will be jumping into The Warded Man and then finally get into The Black Company that I have been wanting to read for a few years now. The Warded Man just released and is getting nothing but praise so far.

Last book I read was Black House by Stephen King & Peter Straub. Stephen King has probably been the most I have read when to comes to "proper" books. Other than that, it's comic books and if this counts been reading Star Trek Countdown on the iPhone...

Right now I'm listening to The Count of Monte Cristo on my drives to and from school. Very good, very long.

Last book I actually read was Black Cross, WWII historical fiction. Also read Invitation to Valhalla which was really good, pretty amazing how it's mostly true. Would love to find other books like those two.

How good is it on a scale of 1 - 10?
I have read plenty of Kings books including most of the major ones like Salems Lot (my favourite), The Shining, Pet Semetary, The Stand and so on and ive been considering reading this series because apparently it draws on elements from his other books or something?
I'm just not sure if i can be bothered to get into reading a 5-6-7 book long series xD.

I am currently reading "The Wolves Of Calla" [Book 5] of The Dark Tower Series by Stephen King. Finished book 4 a few days back. Interesting read, that's for sure.

I am reading 'Le Morte d'Arthur'. It is the Arthurian legend about King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table:

It is not an easy book; composed in the 15th century, it uses old English, such as:

It is very good so far.

I'm reading The Parsifal Mosaic by Robert Ludlum at he moment, the same author who wrote the Bourne series. A lot of twists and turn, he crams a lot in to his books.

I'm 135 pages into The Gunslinger but I stopped reading it about a month ago. My attention seems to be immune to the book.

I've almost finished Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger, but it's only 138 pages. Stormed through it more or less. Bought it a couple of days ago.

The book before that was Gulliver's Travels by Jonathon Swift. That one was for university. I love the satire and the ideas the book has, but books from anything before the 1900s seem to always instill in me a sense of apathy and quiet resentment. I've always been into writing and books, so took all the English geared subjects in whatever educational institute since I had the choice. Maybe it's because everything in the subject barely ever touches on more modern works and all this classical literature was forced down my throat. I get sick of the writing style.

Or maybe it was because I had to read it. **** a deadline. I'm usually a pretty slow reader, as in. I read only a few pages every day. Not as in "theeee.... caaaaaatttt... saaat... on... the...... mat."

Whatever. Everybody enjoy your respective books.

Oh: Also, I just bought The Thing on The Doorstep & Other Weird Stories, by H.P. Lovecraft. All the guy seems to have done is short stories. Which is kind of refreshing actually.
