I was expecting a bit lower price. What do you guys think?Nintendo UK Offers EU Pricing Clues
A Nintendo UK spokesperson has confirmed that The Wii console's European price point will be roughly the same as what has been estimated for the United States and Japan, reports GamesIndustry.biz.
This indicates that if Wii retails at the maximum price Nintendo has announced possible, the price tag may be £120 (according to the ¥25,000 price ceiling for Japan) or £134 (according to the $250 price ceiling for the US), before tax.
GamesIndustry.biz speculates a launch price of £150, including tax.
The Euro conversion for the above mentioned US and Japan price ceilings are €174 and €196 respectively.
Nintendo has yet to announce a confirmed retail price or a launch date for any region.

Pfft, how low do you want it?
Expecting the world to treat you fairly because you are good is like expecting the bull not to charge at you because you are a vegetarian.

I think it is too high. It is a great console and stuff. But for the hardware in it, it isn't worth the money I think. I like to pay, when I buy a new console, for the good graphics and if innovation is included that is 2 bugs in one clap/ 2 in 1 . But as far as I saw at this years E3 the graphics were not at all what I expected from the Wii.

I don't know what the range should be in Europe, but for the States, I think they will launch it at $199. I don't think the Wii is that expensive to manufacture, and at $199, they will slaughter the competition. If they can make enough consoles, I expect the Wii to outsell the PS3 by 2:1.

I'm sure the graphics will get better. Mario Galaxy was the best looking Wii game probably because it's first party. They have said Zelda TP is a gamecube game. They will not develop 2 different versions. On Wii the only differences will be support for 16:9, new controls and a slight graphics upgrade. A Ubisoft employee said they only had 2 weeks to update from the gamecube devkits to a Wii dev kit. This was probably the same for all third parties.

Don't worry about the graphics. Nintendo still has a good 6 months until the Wii comes out, so I'm sure that all the Japanese guys over in Nintendo are working their hearts out.

Id say that if it launches at £150 in the UK then it would be cheap enough to be an impulse buy. Anyone buying a PS3 or 360 is going to leave the house with the intention to buy it due to the cost. £150 is the kind of money I could pay on a pair of jeans or something so i could quite easily see myself making a spur of the moment decision to get one and end up coming home with one just to play mario or something

06-01-2006 #8You didn't watch Nintendo's press conference, did you...they specificly said, on stage, that there will be two versions (GameCube and Wii) launching on the same day (the Wii's release date).

I think it's just lots of bloom, possibly antialiasing, not full HDR. Chris Viggers from Blitz said that bloom is a definite go on the Wii but HDR might be too much for it.
Anyway, that's the same level of graphics that were at E3. I played through that flame dungeon and the magnetic boots part.

i still think it will end up costing $250 ain the u.s
and £150 in the u.k, which are both very fair prices. if it's any less then that i'll be thrilled though. If you would be a real seeker after truth, it is necessary that at least once in your life you doubt, as far as possible, all things.

I think the gamecube sold for £130 at launch so £150 for the Wii sounds about fair considering inflation and other things other the past 5 - 6 years. It seems in line with how Nintendo have priced all their consoles.

Couldn't care less.
Not could care less. If you could care less about something you actually care about it.

Woah.
I've just been informed that in the article those pictures came from (EGM)...well, apparently, it says those are GAMECUBE screenshots. Not Wii.

If the cube can do that, then the Wii will have no trouble keeping up with the other two graphics wise!!! Maybe not resolution wise, but defenitly in effects.

Wow, it looks like Twilight Princess is going to push the Cube to it's limits. Seeing as this is going to be the last major game for Gamecube, it's nice to see that it will be going out with a bang.

I'd already be more than satisfied graphic wise if Wii games could look like the Cube version of Zelda TT.
Imagining that the Wii could do much better is incredible amazing if you ask me.
