Well compressing the damm audio would help very much, if they had to change disc 4 times it wouldnt be worse than waiting for a damm install.

i dont think that adding players online is pushing anything, it is similar to having more cars on screen in a racing game.

i will gladly play a racer with 4 cars e.g rallisport challenge that is fun and has great A.I than one with 12 cars and silly A.I.

if i had the oppotunity, i would rather play a game with 10 players online tops that plays superbly, than a game that has 40 players online and is plagued by a plethora of issues

Its only confirmed for the PC at the moment. Realtime Worlds have indicated that Xbox 360 and PS3 versions could follow though. From what I gather its an MMO set in a city. Except it isn't really an MMO if what I hear about there being no more than 32 players at a time in the city are true.
I guess that would make it just a 'game'. Weird.

Well, since then Realtime Worlds have repurchasaed publishing rights and said the PC version is their main focus.

a Realtime Worlds spokesperson told GameSpot that the PC edition was the developer's priority and will be the first to market. Noting that Crackdown was the only game to fall under the exclusivity contract the studio signed with Microsoft in 2005, the RTW rep said that if it does proceed with console editions of the game, both an Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 version are on the table

That was April 2008 and the latest news I could find on it. Who knows, things could have changed since then, but we should take the last known news as whats happening until we are told otherwise. Hopefully it does make it to consoles though, as I know a few people who want to play it on a console.

APB is a breath of fresh air IMO. I'm tired of devs playing it safe and not trying things out. I want devs to push the safe numbers of 32 players online to 256 like in MAG, and show lazy developers that YES, it can work and create a new way of playing in a way that isn't just a huge orgie. I want APB to make the co op / MMO experience to push open worlds beyond the safe formula that GTA has been using the last 2-3 games.

Getting back. I really hope to see more of APB and working together with friends to coordinate a mission in a very fluid and dynamic way. It sounds hard to get it to work smoothly, but I'm pumped to see someone trying it.

Actually, after doing a tad more research, apparently Dave Jones has been quoted as saying players will be able to play with 'up to 25 other players' meaning that it could even be as small as 26 player games. None of the sources are particularly clear of reliable though, so thats just speculation if you ask me.

With compression I recall reading MS can have 12-13Gb of data on a DVD9 disc (7.5Gb real world for X360 games). 50Gb would equate to 4 discs, take out other languages and release each language for each region respectively (X360 games are region locked) and you'd have 3-4 discs. Not like it has not been done before or handled well by X360 gamers.

They may, MS is still building themselves in this console race, last gen was a flop and a half for them so they could not cement themselves in, this gen however they are doing exactly that and next gen they'll only be in a better position.

They'll continue to do what they can, it won't stop anytime soon.

I agree if MS gets a Metal Gear game I'd prefer it to be exclusive/new. Not MGS4 which I already have on my PS3.

As for games MS have not announced they have been hush hush all year, well since last E3 at least!
