Worst Character Names

What do you think are the worst video game character names of all time?

Few off the top of my head:
Edge Maverick (easily at the top of the list)
Master Chief
Cloud (Strife)
Waluigi
Dr.Eggman (why couldn't they have stuck with Robotnik!?)
Poo (really?)

Conversely, these are some I like:
Nathan Drake
Samus Aran
Gorden Freeman
Duke Nukem (so bad it's good)

Worst: Edge Maverick

Why: It's ridiculously cheesy, and had this been from the SNES gaming era, that would not have been so bad. But this is 2009, and these days gaming is generally taken as serious, this name is just flatout ridiculous.

Best Name: Easily Gordon Freeman.

Why: His name doesn't make him sound a like stereotypical tough guy. From just hearing the name, assuming you had never heard of Half Life before, you would think he was just an average guy. Another reason is that most Action games up to this point had put you in the role of a soldier or some guy that is just craving for action. Half Life bent the rules and made you a Scientist. More specifically, a physicist. And yet another reason would be that it was one of the first Action games to fully immerse you into believing that you were Gordon Freeman by never leaving the FPS view, or having cut scenes that force you to stop moving. And finally, the last reason, Gordon Freeman's name is essentially a play on words that ends up becoming exactly what he is known for doing, freeing mankind from the Combine.

cause I always think of Domino from the X-Men

So I end up picturing a small woman rather than some beefy man wearing car parts for armor

I agree with all of the like names but i don't see how you don't like master cheif that's just an amazing name lol

I always thought William "B.J." Blazkowicz from wolfenstein had to have quite possibly the worst nickname of all time lol. The whole metal gear franchise have cheesy names as well, but it seems to work for them as they keep producing one unbelievably awesome game after another.

My personal favourite has always been Indiana Jones though. I know hes a movie character but I played 'Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis' before i knew that the movies even existed

Cloud is ok, but he definitely sounds better in his Japanese pronounced name - Kuraudo

Is this the characters literal name or the title they typically go by? Cuz Master Chief is just a title, his real name is John.

Anyways, I'd say Gordon Freeman and Nathan Drake are some of the best names out here.

Yeah, I prefer real sounding names as opposed to some of the more out there ones that get thrown out there.

Worst ever: Seth

I mean, on top of him being a bald, blue and corny boss wanting to ''drain all the power from everyone fighting him,'' (or something like that) he has the stupidest name I have ever seen in a videogame. Also his moves suck and his ultra combo is stupid as hell.
