Well, it is still the most played game on xbox live, for the original xbox.

From what I recall from 10 years ago, this game was going to be a mac exclusive game.

It did wonders for the console, not PC. There was nothing decent out on consoles at the time other than Socom but they're not in direct competition.

ahhh, thanks for the link.. awesome. So it is a 10 year anniversary of the announcement of Halo. Still an amazing game.
