Pre-Order Wii games from Bestbuy.com![]()
Source: http://wii.qj.net/Best-Buy-com-has-W...g/49/aid/53407Electronics store Best Buy have 3 games available for the Wii to pre-order on their website. To my knowledge, this is the only website with Wii games available to pre-order at the moment. The three games currently listed on the site are Red Steel, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, and Super Mario Galaxy.
The site has very little information on the games, but all 3 are currently up for pre-order the price of $49.99, and have an estimated release date of December 1st 2006. Interestingly, no PS3 launch titles have yet been listed on BestBuy.com, or even a PS3 category. This seems unusual considering that the PS3's launch date has already been confirmed for November this year, and the Wii's launch date has not been confirmed - resting somewhere in the fourth quarter of 2006.
Release date 12/1/2006Sounds about right. $50 for a wii game, which is about what I expected. What do you guys think about the pricing and the release date?

Stores like Best Buy always put tenative release dates that are their own guesses because they don't actually know.
GameStop has some Wii games listed for October and some for November.

I wouldn't pre-order anything with an unconfirmed release date... you're basically giving Best Buy an interest-free loan.

Yes, the December date seems a tad late to me. No firm date has been set but by all accounts it is believed it will be sometime in October which makes December awfully late.

I really am just waiting until Big Nintendo gives the official word. Because I can really wait 1 month or 2. I've waited 2 years, so a little more time doesn't hurt.
Besides, I don't think Best Buy should be trusted. But it is great that the games are 50 dollars each! In that case, Red Steel and Zelda are my launch games. And then I'll have to wait until Super Mario Galaxy. Metroid Prime 3 will also be a launch game for me as well.

06-14-2006 #8I agree with this, what a lot of retailers are doing in the UK is basicaly taking pre-orders for prety much every game thats been confired regardless of when they are being released ( even if release date hasnt been set)I wouldn't pre-order anything with an unconfirmed release date... you're basically giving Best Buy an interest-free loan.
Games are never really short in supply anyway so no great incentive to pre-order
on the price note play.com that is a popular internet retailer for UK and Europe has their games prices for the Wii at £50 which is the same as PS3 and more than expected for Wii games"Ever since I started working each day has been worse than the one before, so no matter what day you see me its the worst day of my life".

I think the only game you may really need to preorder for the Wii is the Zelda game. The Zelda games tend to be super hot sellers the moment they are available to the public in both Japan and the United States.
